Not one but TWO exciting games today. That's more like it! And nobody is going to sweep.

Would have liked to have seen how that inning played out if Marsh had walked (Which should have happened).

Great baseball night for sure.
Feel like Kimbrel is going to let Arizona move forward making the path for the Astros even easier.
Would love to see an Arizona-Texas wired series, but if the Astros get there, I kinda think the Phillies have a better shot at stopping them.

Effin Mariners. How do you trade that dude away while making a playoff push. Just a POS franchise

Wow, just saw the 9th…. how the hell did the Astros escape? Altuve’ homer sneaks JUST over the wall and the Rangers have two hard hit balls either of which should’ve scored a run or more.

Today was all about the leaky bullpens of the regular season finally coming home to roost for the two losers.
True. Except the Dbacks had a bad one too but won a bullpen game.

Just got out of the game. Spent the night behind the world’s two most annoying Phillies fans. Can’t believe no punches were thrown. Great game though. The pitching changes really broke the flow but all’s well that ends well.

Is the crowd as quiet as it seems or is that the Fox mics?

And specifically earlier in the game before Alek Thomas assured himself a lot of local hospitality with that AB and what transpired after. The crowd seemed louder then.

I thought the crowd was really good. For a 5:00 local start the crowd was all there for first pitch. I thought energy was good until 5-2. Then the crowd kind of quieted down. One thing that may not come across on tv is that it is an enormous barn. Like cavernous. But the three strike outs in the ninth were as loud as I have experienced. I could barely hear DDB Jr. even when he shouted in my ear. So if that did not come through, it was the broadcast.

I thought energy was great in our section but that may be because the Phillies fans were pretty rough and there was a constant sense of menace and tension.

But the real problem was the pitching changes. It was brutal. In the regular year it is like 2:00 on the clock but in the playoffs it is more than 3 minutes. And it seemed like every fucking one was mid inning not between innings, so it was like as soon as momentum built you had to sit back down. That was a bit of a drag. At home probably not a big deal, but live, a 14 pitching change game is tough. Not enough time to get a snack or drink but too much to keep standing.

That makes sense - I am guessing the cavernous nature definitely messes with the acoustics especially with the TV mics

The only intelligent thing Joe Morgan ever said on TV was, "at its best, baseball is the best."

He’s giving me Craig Kimbrel vibes
Someone on Sosh (@Bergs?) loves Kimbrel, but I've never gotten that. He gave me so much agita in 2018 that seeing what he did last night to benefit a very likeable bunch like the D-backs is almost wonderful, knowing that he's not on my team anymore. But I'm not crazy about Jansen, either. Koji was the best.
