Sewald's fastball is so, so deceptive. That 2-0 should have been hit to Pluto.
Why can’t the Red Sox get executives like that?Mike Hazen’s deadline deal looking pretty, pretty, pretty good.
Multiple-run, pinch-hit #Postseason home runs that tied the game in the 8th or later:
-Alek Thomas, tonight
-J.T. Snow, 2000 NLDS Game 2
-Jim Leyritz, 1998 NLDS Game 2
-Chili Davis, 1991 WS Game 3
-Bernie Carbo, 1975 WS Game 6
Only win of those previous 4? Carbo's, as the game where Fisk waved his shot fair.
Why can't we get guys like that?Mike Hazen’s deadline deal looking pretty, pretty, pretty good.
What an awesome day. No other sport compares. You win again, Playoff Baseball. Hope we get back into it some day.
At least they lose fewer paintings than the IGMNo day is awesome when the MFA win

Feel like Kimbrel is going to let Arizona move forward making the path for the Astros even easier.
Would love to see an Arizona-Texas wired series, but if the Astros get there, I kinda think the Phillies have a better shot at stopping them.
True. Except the Dbacks had a bad one too but won a bullpen game.Today was all about the leaky bullpens of the regular season finally coming home to roost for the two losers.
Hey, they're making moves to win 54 percent of their games on a regular basis.Effin Mariners. How do you trade that dude away while making a playoff push. Just a POS franchise
Is the crowd as quiet as it seems or is that the Fox mics?True. Except the Dbacks had a bad one too but won a bullpen game.
Just got out of the game. Spent the night behind the world’s two most annoying Phillies fans. Can’t believe no punches were thrown. Great game though. The pitching changes really broke the flow but all’s well that ends well.
Govert Flinck was the Jeter Downs of that particular Boston-based heist. At least they lose fewer paintings than the IGM
I thought the crowd was really good. For a 5:00 local start the crowd was all there for first pitch. I thought energy was good until 5-2. Then the crowd kind of quieted down. One thing that may not come across on tv is that it is an enormous barn. Like cavernous. But the three strike outs in the ninth were as loud as I have experienced. I could barely hear DDB Jr. even when he shouted in my ear. So if that did not come through, it was the broadcast. Is the crowd as quiet as it seems or is that the Fox mics?
And specifically earlier in the game before Alek Thomas assured himself a lot of local hospitality with that AB and what transpired after. The crowd seemed louder then.
You make a good point ...But the real problem was the pitching changes. It was brutal. In the regular year it is like 2:00 on the clock but in the playoffs it is more than 3 minutes. And it seemed like every fucking one was mid inning not between innings, so it was like as soon as momentum built you had to sit back down. That was a bit of a drag. At home probably not a big deal, but live, a 14 pitching change game is tough. Not enough time to get a snack or drink but too much to keep standing.
I am too tired to fight you, robot. And I still have a long drive ahead of me.You make a good point ...

Totally. What an embarrassment of a franchise.Hey, they're making moves to win 54 percent of their games on a regular basis.
That makes sense - I am guessing the cavernous nature definitely messes with the acoustics especially with the TV micsI thought the crowd was really good. I thought energy was great in our section but that may be because the Phillies fans were pretty rough and there was a constant sense of menace and tension.

That Rangers loss was Red Sox level painful.
I think we're just rooting for baseball ... and against the MFA
A well-coached team will destroy "great closers" who live off the plate.
He’s giving me Craig Kimbrel vibesCraig Kimbrel is giving me Byung-Hyun Kim vibes in this series.

Someone on Sosh (@Bergs?) loves Kimbrel, but I've never gotten that. He gave me so much agita in 2018 that seeing what he did last night to benefit a very likeable bunch like the D-backs is almost wonderful, knowing that he's not on my team anymore. But I'm not crazy about Jansen, either. Koji was the best. He’s giving me Craig Kimbrel vibes
Tied with Foulke, and Papelbon just inches behindKoji was the best.
