And then wins it with Dobson passing it to Panarin in the slot. The only debate was whether it should count since Dobson slid behind Sorokin and knocked the net off as the puck trickled across the line.
Three hat tricks in the game. Plus a ton of 5 on 3 power plays in the third. Considering how hard it was for the bruins to get 5-4 calls this screams the refs sending a signal for the complaints from the canucks Coach.Sooooooooo, the Wild hung 5 on the Canucks in the first 5:12 of the third. DeSmith was 16/24 at last check.
It doesn’t hurt that he lined up for his first shift in the NHL opposite Matt Martin. The kid clearly understands Laviolette’s assignment. This Rempe guy for the Rangers is a throwback goon. He’s up to 27 PIM in under 10 minutes of total ice time across 3+ games.
10 games into the Rempe experience and he's got his first suspension, a 4-gamer for elbowing Siegenthaler in the head.Good scrap in the Flyers/Rangers game between Matt Rempe and Nick Deslauriers.

Last game of the 69-70 season, NYR played without a goalie for long stretches, as they needed goals as a tie breaker. They beat Detroit 9-5. It was MTL's first missed-playoffs in forever. I *think* that was the 1st time I had seen a Ranger game on TV being played at MSG. (The below story has the goalie pulled only late. My memory has it longer and more often. I'm sticking with 50 year old memories.I was kind of suprised that the players didn't know. It's rare, but it does happen from time to time. The most common use cas is a team chasing a playoff spot that does it in the last week of the regular season because they need an ROW for tiebreaker purposes and a shootout win doesn't do them any good. I think I read that Hynes did it in New Jersey, albeit not as far out from the end of the year as this. Kudos to him.
That was a pretty good Ranger team and they did the Bruins a big favor by eliminating Montreal.Last game of the 69-70 season, NYR played without a goalie for long stretches, as they needed goals as a tie breaker. I don't know as much NHL history as you guys do, although I'm competent. I was looking how many players have ever been suspended for life. Because I'm worried Rempe will join the club.10 games into the Rempe experience and he's got his first suspension, a 4-gamer for elbowing Siegenthaler in the head.
1g, 1a and 54 PIM's. Averaging 5:39 TOI per game.

Took me a minute...I found the rule as early as 2012. However, I'm almost certain it predates that.Is the game misconduct for secondary fights a new thing? I don’t recall hearing about this rule before seeing this tonight
I must be getting old because I find this stuff stupid and pointlessThey’re filming Slapshot 2 in NY tonight.

Yeah, this is what I should have specified. The Devils had very fair grievances against Rempe and Trouba. The rest was unnecessary and looks bad for the sport at large. They hate each other, sure....pick a guy from each side to drop em when the puck drops. What's the point of all 5 dropping and skating around looking for a dance partner and then somewhat half-heartedly fighting? Only a couple of them were actually fighting, and having to deal with everyone left that one pair alone and let the guy wail on the other one much more than refs would normally allow.
Fighting is part of the game, that was dumb.
