Poor guy, but folks who are squeamish should know to avoid that video because you can pretty clearly see his foot going in a direction a food isn't supposed to go, with all his weight going down on that same leg. Fingers crossed for the guy, but man oh man that looks real ugly.

I wonder if Tyler Bertuzzi is regretting turning down the Bruins longer term offer in the offseason in favor of a "show me" one year/5.5million dollar deal in Toronto.
1 goal in his last 28 games. 6 goals, 15 assists for 21 points in 48 games.
For comparison. He had 10 points in 7 playoff games alone, for Boston.
For further comparison - James van Riemsdyk has 8 goals and 24 assists in 46 games on a 1 year/1 million dollar deal.
I'm glad the Bruins didn't sign him for what he was asking, but there was something about him that just fit here.

Ottawa adds an empty netter to make it a 2 goal lead with 5 seconds to go. Morgan Reilly takes exception to the way the goal was scored, with a slap shot from 10 feet out, and cross checks the goal scorer to the head.

Leafs Twitter is unhinged on this one, ranging between this being Grieg’s fault for winding up on an empty net to rolling out clips of other dangerous plays, like Trouba’s swing at Frederic’s head, Gallagher’s chicken wing last week, and Simmonds eating lumber in the 2021 MTL-TML series. To the latter group, I’d ask: do you really want that to be the standard? Because I guarantee you, if the shoe was on the other foot, they’d be calling for 15+ games the loudest.
Playoffs are far from certain so color me a bit surprised that he didn't get the Trouba whitewash.

Rumor (conspiracy theory?) around Leafs’ Land is that Parros, since heading up the NHLPA, has handed out the most suspension time to the Leafs, Bruins, and Sharks because these are the arch rivals of teams he has played for - the Ducks and Canadiens.

Lol. Just listening to the Dangle podcast (he's the guy who does reactions after every Leafs game, you guys posted his video after the Leafs lost to their own zamboni driver) and they somehow stumbled onto the subject of Brad Marchand's 1000th game upcoming. The host asked Steve to say something nice about Marchand. "He is someone who has been around forever, and he gets more effective with every passing season, and I wish he would stop." And a bit later: "You think the BRUINS are gonna roll out the red carpet for his retirement ceremony, the Leafs should be invited because they will celebrate harder than anyone else in this league."
Also I've been enjoying watching the social media blowup between Leafs fans and Ottawa fans over the past couple of days. The weirdest reaction is from Leafs fans (and I am one, for the record) who are mad that Marner didn't find a partner to scuffle with. He was the deepest forward on the play. By the time he got back to the action, Matthews was scuffling with someone, Tavares was scuffling with someone, Rielly obviously was, even Nylander was in a scuffle. I'm not sure what Marner was supposed to do. Skate over and punch (the prone) Greig in the head? Go attack the goalie? Call it 6 games and move on.
Except Marner and Tavares are also out sick tonight.

Yeah. Reilly was probably in the running for the Lady Byng (1 minor all year I think). (Which might not be what you are after in your top d-man, but I digress...) He sure blew that out of the water in a hurry.
The Leafs' record without Reilly in the lineup over the past couple of years is insanely good. Which makes ZERO sense. They have like two guys capable of making competent outlet passes. Reilly is one of them.
This Rags/Isles stadium game is a gem. NYR nets two late PP goals with Shesterkin pulled to knot it at 5-5.
