Schefler‘s ability to miss well and scramble has been incredible so far with Smith bearing down on him.
He was trying to get it to a yardage where he could hit a comfortable shot. Narrator: “he did not.”
I mean they do. Smith just hit a terrible shot. No matter where he aims that ball is going in the pond.
He looked like he was aiming for the pin on the tee. Dumb. Can’t win on 12 but you can end your run there.
Boy, how many balls has Schefler hit today that were a foot or two from being absolute prison only to leave him a chance that he takes advantage of.
Right he was aiming for the pin for sure. I’m saying no matter where he aimed he’s going in the drink after hitting it like that.
Scheffler looks like he isn’t going to make any big numbers. Smith was down by 3. I could see him thinking he needed a birdie there. I think he had to go for it.
I kind of doubt he hits that crappy short and right shot if aiming for a fatter and safer landing zone. That was a “I need to be perfect” failure.
Awesome by Rory, and great coverage by CBS to not catch it live while the roar was going on. Instead we get Cameron 6 shots back pacing over his putt for 5 minutes.
That must be the first time two players holed out from 18 from the same group in the masters.

Say what you will about Rory, but the guy has become a lot more likable as he has matured. I enjoyed that he threw his hands up there for Morikawa; that was just fun to watch.
