Juhann with that NBA length and quick hops, Cooper put him on skates but he still recovered to tip the shot
The poor guys jumper jumped up and left him.Carsen is better at finishing contested layups than he is at hitting 3-pointers.
It's an All-Smurf Team -- no rim protection, no defense inside.Wish the Celtics could have found at least 1 or two G-League level bigs, they're playing with guys who are headed for like 4th or 5th tier leagues and it's killing the flow.
I wish he would have finished the feed from PPCarsen is better at finishing contested layups than he is at hitting 3-pointers.
Also no rebounding or screen setting on offenseIt's an All-Smurf Team -- no rim protection, no defense inside.
Makes it really really hard for guards who rely on the pick and roll to do anything. But that is a weakness. Also no rebounding or screen setting on offense
The lack of screens may be part of why all our guards look like they have no ability to beat their man off the dribble. Also no rebounding or screen setting on offense
He's getting his pocket picked repeatedly.Maybe I'm not watching closely enough, but Romeo's handle is super loose when he drives to the basket.
Yep. I spoke too soon.I wish he would have finished the feed from PP
Sadly Tacko is not walking through that door. It's an All-Smurf Team -- no rim protection, no defense inside.
Cooper's been a mixed bag. He is completely overmatched defensively at this level right now. His vision is great, and he is has thrown a handful of highlight film passes (probably should have 10 assists), but he has been sloppy with the pass a few times. I think he will play in the league in time, but honestly I think he was rightly slotted in the middle of the second round. If a team had taken him where pre draft rankings had him (19-25 range), they'd have made a mistake.Hawks have to be happy, at least from the very early results. Looks like they just had a good draft.
Yeah, he looks like he'd blow away in a strong breeze. I suspect he'll have a good summer league, then fade back during the NBA season, if he makes the squad.Cooper's been a mixed bag.
Pritchard seems to have taken charge as floor general.Big three ball from PP.
He and Carsen are putting on a show.Pritchard seems to have taken charge as floor general.
Already looks more aggressive and competent than Semi...I love Juhann already
Not really. Summar games are 40 minutes. Edwards (30 minutes), Pritchard (30 minutes), and Madar (17 minutes) seemed to do most of the ballhandling and Langford was often on the floor with more than one of them. They're trying to play him as a ballhandler, that's a new role. I don't care if he's out there with Pritchard for example, he's still being asked to initiate offense and set up teammates off the drive (also Pritchard isn't really a PG) if he looks terrible long term I'll be a bit worried, but usually when you ask a guy to take a new role in SL you expect him to struggle.
He's at 22% for his career, 28% last year.Langford didn’t play great but I thought his shot looked better. If he can shoot 35-37% from 3 he can be useful.
I mean, he has 45 career regular season attempts split over 2 years, it's a nothing sample. He shot 28% last year, but also shot 35% in the playoffs (on 1 less attempt than he took the entire regular season). Given his dearth of attempts, and that he's never had a season without a hand/wrist injury, we just lack adequate data to make a real estimate on his shooting. He's at 22% for his career, 28% last year.
DARKO estimates him as a 31% true talent 3PT shooter right now, for whatever that's worth. Higher than I would have thought honestly, though he's still young and has shot FT's fairly well so far (73%) so I guess it thinks he's ready to "breakout" into the low 30s.
35-37% from 3 this season would be great, but also quite unexpected.
I'm sure thats a part of why DARKO has him as a true talent 31% 3PT shooter. Small sample size has big error bars and I'm guessing it regresses pretty heavily toward average when there is less data. He is also a 35% overall FG% shooter on 139 attempts FWIW.I mean, he has 45 career regular season attempts split over 2 years, it's a nothing sample. Marcus Smart is reportedly being offered a 4 year extension of $17 million per season after having shot 35-37% from 3 precisely once in his 7 year career.35-37% from 3 this season would be great, but also quite unexpected.
Cs shot 51 3Ps versus 30 2Ps. Is this Ime's new offense - throw the ball around the perimeter and then chuck up a 3P?Pritchard (7 for 15), Langford (3 for 7), and Begarin (2 of 4) gave the Celtics good 3-point shooting, going a combined 12 for 26.
The rest of the team shot 4 for 25 from 3, most of which was Nesmith (1 of 8), Hauser (1 of 6), and Edwards (2 of 8).
Rebounding leaders were Edwards (8), Langford (6), Pritchard (5), Auguste (5), and Begarin (5).
Assists were Edwards (6), Pritchard (5), and Langford (4).
In terms of racking up numbers, the guys with NBA experience (even as little as Langford's) were ahead of the rest.
I thought both Madar and Begarin showed a little something. What I want to see in draft and stash guys.
He needs to get stronger for both offense and defense. He really needs some range on his jump shot (and it looks like he has the potential to do so; that tear drop was pretty sweet and not an easy shot at all). I hope he stays overseas for another year and works on his body.very curious to see if Madar can keep up what he did today over the entire summer league. Kid looks HUNGRY.
You saw the bigs on this summer league team, right? I think that played heavily into the C's shot selection today.Cs shot 51 3Ps versus 30 2Ps. Is this Ime's new offense - throw the ball around the perimeter and then chuck up a 3P?
Mader and Begarin are fun to watch but they are a year away from being a year away. I hope they both know it. Doogie Hauser will be fun to follow in Maine.
As for the other Cs, to me, no one really jumped off the page one way or the other. Which is somewhat concerning since the Cs are apparently banking on at least one of AN or RL to take at least one step forward from last year.
Wish granted.I want Pritchard taking 10 to 12 threes. Why the fuck not.
Scal is an asshole to anyone he doesn't respect.Scal big timing Abby and Forsberg.
