I think that’s his floor.Basically 3C ceiling? Cool.
I'm not gonna say I'm a genius....but you could. The guy I want is Poulin, good size, good shot left shot rw. Intangibles etc.. I'm scared of Vlasic, I think people are dreaming on his size but I think there is a huge risk of flame out.
Other guys I like:
Beecher- 6'3 center who can skate. He was pushed down the lineup because he played with three top 10 prospects at center. There could be more there but its a guess. I think he has a high floor.
Lagare- not a great skater but I bet he'd be a top 15 pick if he was. Elite shot from rw.
There are a bunch of left shot Finnish d available That don't excite me. Also there is the chance Peyton Krebs falls because he just had surgery to repair his Achilles. I'd take the chance on him over any of these guys.
This is not true. This kid has been playing in the development program with Hughes, Zegras and Turcotte for 3 years. His floor is probably Kuraly. If there is untapped offensive potential, which their easily could be, his ceiling is a first division 2nd line center who can kill. This system desperately needs center depth. They have two prospects under 25 at the position, Studnicka and Frederic. This is a good pick. They could have swung for the fences with Kaliyev or Lavoie but both had consistency red flags and effort red flags. Kaliyev is also slow and has an anaphylactic reaction to his own zone. I can see why he fell. I can also see being annoyed not taking him but don't conflate that to beecher being a reach. He's not. McKeens, Pronman and future considerations all had him between 30-33. Pronman had him ahead of Mcmichael, holmstrom, Thomson, Pelletier, Tracey, bjornfoot and even Poulin, who all went before him.Basically 3C ceiling? Cool.
Ehhh original post was midnight hyperbole. DeletingLets stop with his floor is a 3rd liner. He was a 3rd liner in a garbage league. He couldn't put up points in a league where it's easy to put up points. He still has a ton of development to be an NHLer
He was a 3rd liner because he played behind 2 top 10 picks. Let’s see how he develops in Ann Arbor in a top 2 line role before we kill this pick. He says he sees his development path like Blake Wheeler’s and I’d be very happy if he turns out to be him.Lets stop with his floor is a 3rd liner. He was a 3rd liner in a garbage league. Yeah they’re probably stuck with Backes for this year. What’s his buyout cap number after next year? That first to unload 1 year of Marleau (well 2 considering Marleau is going to be bought out) is scary for the Bruins moving Backes.
When was that being talked about?Dom revealed what the original Schenn deal was. It was Heinen, Grz and a 3rd but StL was demanding Frederic instead of the 3rd. All I know is thank God that didn't happen, that trade is horrific.
He said it in the draft Discord last night. When was that being talked about?
Sorry, I meant when were the teams discussing the trade? He said it in the draft Discord last night.
I forget when we were rumored to be trading for Schenn, I think it was around the turn of the year? It was when StL was a dumpster fire, Schenn even said at media day he was told he was almost traded.Sorry, I meant when were the teams discussing the trade?
So this season? Yeah that would’ve been bad. It would’ve no Coyle or Grzelcyk in the playoffs.I forget when we were rumored to be trading for Schenn, I think it was around the turn of the year? It was when StL was a dumpster fire, Schenn even said at media day he was told he was almost traded.
