Worse comes to worse... can’t Gronk be just a better version of the current Antonio Gates? Which is still a really useful player.
He could in theory, but I don't think he wants to play if that's all he is, and I don't think they'd agree on a contract value if that's what he does.
Also, if Pats play Chargers I'd bet a lot that Gates would be doubled on 3rd down---it's incredible how often Rivers goes to him on 3rd down
Yeah I agree he’d have to take a pay cut but nothing wrong with making $5 million a year to be a solid, reliable TE. But what do I know?
Vince will pay him that to work Mania, SummerSlam, the Rumble and go to Saudi Arabia twice a year.

Yup really would prefer ravens over chargers for pats because of him. Their D is great but imo the chargers are even better then the chiefs because they have a D.
If you're going to call timeout and kick it anyway, why do it with 8 seconds on the clock? Why force yourself to have to kickoff?

If I were a Charger fan, my sphincter would still be pretty damn tight. Feels like they should be up like 24-0, instead of 12-0. Very, very curious to see what Harbaugh does, and if he makes a move to Flacco. The Ravens could literally undo their future plans in the next hour if they bench Jackson, and Flacco plays well.
Compare that drive with the one Mayfield had in the last two minutes last week. He stands in against the blitz and seems to be calling the right audibles at the line. Nothing like experience in the playoffs. That being said, no touchdowns is problematic.
He definitely is one tough SOB.
I mean, Baltimore just won two weeks ago at SD, 22-10. that includes a fumble return for a TD by BAL, so 16-10 of offense.
San Diego has really adjusted on both sides of the ball, although I think their playcalling has been kinda shit and they should have a TD or two.
