I've been having a nice run. In 2012, it was Vrabel-backed Nate Ebner. In 2013, it was the Puntator himself, Ryan Allen. (We won't mention T.J. Moe, but even he's still in the game training with the Rams).

This year, I've got my eyes on a couple of binkies but especially this guy:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldyvduwPjkc

5'7" at 180lbs and believe a negative 2.4% body fat:

He's also been saying the right things in camp, saying he's has to "do what the coaches tell him to do and contribute in special teams play". I think we got ourselves a new Woody.

So, which binky you got for 2014?

Woody was a lot of fun. The guy I miss is Faulk.

Dammit, Rev stole my guy. RFP homerism aside, I think White is gonna split the RB job with Vereen this season. They have similiar skill sets and could function as 3-down backs who rotate on a series-by-series basis. White has experience being productive as part of a platoon at Wisconsin, which also kept his mileage down.

But since Rev did steal my guy, I'll go ahead and nominate Kenbrell Thompkins, who seems to be having a great start to camp. Earning Brady's respect and trust usually means the guy becomes a massively productive player - there aren't many of Brady's binkies who haven't performed at a high level. I think Thompkins is going to have a massive, breakout season and put to bed the idea that the Patriots "haven't developed a WR since Branch".

A first round pick probably doesn't qualify, but I have a real affinity for anyone with double ACL tears. So I'm taking Easley.

Josh Boyce. He has all the tools to be a dynamic deep threat with his speed and help in the return game.
Although I am sticking with Finch as the primar binkie, I'm pulling hard for this guy.

Jamie Collins. He got better and better as last season went along and he's assured more snaps this season. His athletic ability at his size should make for a very exciting player to watch this year.

Honorable mention: Logan Ryan.

So, Rev steals your guy, and that gives you the right to steal my guy, Kenbrell Thompkins? Whatevs.

There's something about the KT story that hooked me last year, though to be honest about the only thing I can remember him doing is catching that pass against the Saints, and getting hurt a few times. I'm hoping this is his bust-out year.

On defense I'm very fond of Jamie Collins and Sealver Siliga, but I'd like to see Jemea Thomas make the roster. I think he can be a do-it-all slot CB and eventually replace Arrington's shitty contract.

On offense it's every offensive linemen except Wendell. I'll go with Cannon. His performance last year was unheralded IMO. I hope he gets a chance at guard.

Finch is my guy, too. If there's a need for another, I thought picking up Anderson as a 4th LB for passing situations was a nice little move.

Stork. I'm still shudder at the memory of Terrance Knighton dominating the middle of the pats Oline in the AFC champ game. The pats have two tackles in or entering the prime of their careers. It's past time to make the middle of that line stout again. Let the days of the dominate center return!

James White. Love the Danny Woodhead comparisons. Love the fact that he was able to carve out a niche for himself in a crowded Badgers backfield. He's the only one of the RBs who will definitely be on the team in 2015. He's got a vanilla name and no one really talks about him.

I don't know why people can't take the same binky, forming a binky bandwagon, or "binkywagon."

If I have to take someone not already taken, I'll go out on a limb and say Justin Jones. Simply because I want two Gronks. And since Jones is a TE of the same size, he's the only candidate.

Otherwise Collins. INTs covering RBs and TEs. Sacks on twists. Its all going to happen like crazy.

Brady praises a lot of guys, but this stands out. I can't imagine TB giving out a better compliment to any rookie than this:

He has a real maturity to him that you don't often see in a young player. Nothing seems too big for him. You tell him something one time and he gets it and you don't have to talk about it again. In the few practices we've had out there, he's really made an impression on everybody. So hopefully he continues to do it, and he can be a real threat for us, something we didn't have last year; we had it from the guys we had in here, but it's nice to have another player like that.
Oh nice recovery Tom.

It's me so any O or D lineman. I have some RFP skin in the game with Stork but I was big on him BEFORE we drafted him. I'd also have to go with Easley. So all O-D-linemen but especially those two. Shout outs to Finch and Gallon.

Ben Volin wrote about Justin Jones today. A lot of the same stuff was said about Zach Sudfeld last season, but if he can stay healthy I can see him having a season similar to what Joseph Fauria had for Detroit (18 receptions, 7 touchdowns) simply because it is nearly impossible to cover two giant redzone targets. At 6'8" 275, he is reportedly strong as an ox and hopefully can learn the blocking game. He is a former high school basketball star and has good instincts when going for the ball. Volin said he was virtually a lock to make the 53-man roster.

I just watched the 2013 Atlanta game again (Rewind is such a wonderful salve for this Sox season). Studfeld was my binky last season, this is the game where he blew the on-side kick recovery, shook his head, and his career with the Pats ended. It was that one play that finished it, right? Hang onto the ball Justin!

For the Thompkins binkywagoneers: he had a huge game vs. ATL. 6/127, 1TD, long=49. Nice fade catch and elbow in for the TD. Great grab over the middle where he took a big hit. Gronk wasn't back yet, Danny was out. I want to see him move up the depth chart in front of Dobson and LaFell.

Amendola. He's just 28. All he needs is some health luck, and I don't see the evidence that is predictive. If anything, playing through a torn groin makes me think he's tougher.

Volin called him a "good bet" to make the roster, but "only Gronk and Michael Hoomanawanui are sure bets to make the roster." Jones is interesting, though. Reiss has staked out D.J. Williams as his dark-horse 3rd TE, projecting him to the 53-man recently. I'm in the "they'll only carry 2 pure TEs" camp (though I think they'll use Develin or one of the extra OL in TE-like roles at times).

Yeah, I still think only Gronk and Hooman make the 53.  Volin's roster projections have been a little odd to me all summer.

Siliga was mentioned positively by Reiss a few times today, and reminded me of how much I liked him next year -- it's a funny mix of DL guys right now, lots of rehabbing going on, but as a binky type be great to see Siliga to build on what he did last year.

I will go with Buchanan with a year in the Pats system, I am counting on him being bigger, stronger and smarter setting the edge. Plus the Pats cannot let Jones and Nink play so many snaps. Smith and Buchanan will be in the DE rotation.

Totally forgot that they had been experimenting with Devlin at TE in camp. BB's love for multi-positionality could stand between me and my binky. It's just screwing around in training camp though, so who knows.

Bequette has been making waves in one-on-one pass rushing drills over the last three practices. Has he turned the corner? Is he gonna make the team again? Will he actually earn playing time in the regular season?

Yes to all three.

Binkywagon, start your engine! http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/new-england-patriots/post/_/id/4765491/lb-jamie-collins-gets-job-done-in-coverage?ex_cid=espnapi_public

New England Patriots' second-year linebacker Jamie Collins put on a show with his coverage skills in Wednesday's practice in full pads. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Collins broke up two passes and shut down most every running back and tight end he matched up with during practice.

Among Collins' notable plays Wednesday were a signature pass break-up on a Tom Brady pass to tight end D.J. Williams during 7-on-7 drills. He also prevented a touchdown by sticking with running back Shane Vereen from the line of scrimmage and forcing Vereen out of the end zone on a Brady pass in the right corner.

Browner was complimentary of Thompkins.

"KT’s got routes at the line of scrimmage that are unmatchable,” he said. “Some guys aren’t as quick as that dude, so it’s been competitive going against that guy. And it’s only going to make me better."
Browner has seen a few receivers. Unmatchable? Is he for real? Is that a word?

Garappolo is officially my binky. Holy crap was he impressive! The best part was even with the struggles he's had in practice......game time comes and he showed up in a big way!

That's more than we can say about Mallett.

Any love for Brian Tyms, he of 5 catches for 119 yards and a TD tonight (and if not for a penalty would have had 156 yards and 2 TDs)?

Bounced around on a few practice squads since being a UDFA in '12, but dude is 6'3", had a 4.43 40-time, and straight up beat the Skins secondary (yeah, yeah, he wasn't exactly matched up with Richard Sherman) on a few go routes, which vanishingly few Patriots WR have been able to do in recent years.

Prettay, prettay, prettay good on a relatively ho-hum night.

Tyms is interesting. Rough, rough childhood and really only one year of high school and one year of college ball, but enough raw talent to make 49ers practice squad 2012 (good camp but behind Crabtree, Ginn, Manningham, etc). Still learning to run routes signed off
practice squad by Dolphins, then last season signed off their practice squad by Browns--was active until cut in March when league gave him Browner-type 4-game suspension for unknown substance.
What a night. Can he make the roster? I guess like Browner he doesn't count against the 53 until October. He sure looked better than Boyce or Finch.

He looked really good, albeit against third stringers.

Some ball security issues for Finch obviously, but goddamn is he quick,
