Could we be looking WR here?

Three mid-round WRs (each with a 4th round grade from Scout) who the Pats took some extra time with are still on the board.

Kenny Bell, Nebraska - combine visit
Stefon Diggs, Maryland - workout
Tre McBride - workout

Reiss highlighted Diggs and McBride in his beyond the first round series.

That said, I'd still like to see DB.  Maybe Gaines or Shepherd?  Or Ekpre-Olomu, depending on medicals?
I like these CB options

Forget mid-sentence, when Dallas is on the clock, the NFLN stops everything mid-word. Cut off Bielma. And you know why -- anything is possible, and they are thinking Collins. Hilarious.

Obviously it'll be Tre McBride. Belichick's strategy now appears to be to make roster management easier by having all his role players named either Trey or Malcolm.

May be most powerful guy in the draft, pound for pound
Automatic leverage, plays lower than everyone else
Raw in pass-pro
Gets after people, tenacious

SF just took a guy called DeAndre Smelter. It would have been cool to have a Smelter and Solder on the same team.

Shaq Mason - more interior OL!
Yeah people were wondering after last night how the Pats were going to shore up the OL. Well.... Here we are.

BOTTOM LINE
Powerful player with an ability to drive defenders off their spot with leg drive and then torque and finish with strong hands and upper body. Lack of height and arm length could hurt his draft standing a little bit, but his elite power trait as run blocker and solid pass-protection technique make him a future starter at right guard in the NFL.

Only question I have is why they announced him as a center. Started at guard all last year

"Shaquille Olajuwon Mason"

This all goes back to mom, who just loved - and still loves - hoops.
Funny thing, but Alicia McGuire has always been a Lakers fan, and when her son was born on Aug. 28, 1993 (he was 17 when he arrived on campus last summer), O'Neal was several years from being a Laker.
He had a playing style that appealed, however, and so did Mr. Olajuwon.
"I followed Shaq through college; I was an LSU fan," said McGuire, who played basketball through high school. "My father [Alonzo Pye Jr.] wanted a son, and I came first and I'm the tomboy. My TV is always on SportsCenter. I liked the way Shaq played, and Olajuwon . . . I loved him because he was so strong and powerful."
So, fandom begat Shaquille Olajuwon Mason.

Why? do you think anyone left is significantly better than what they have?
... Maybe? Who the fuck knows?

I mean, by that argument maybe they shouldn't pick anyone after round 4. Odds are they aren't going to be any good anyway.

When your name is Shaquille Olajuwon Mason, you ARE a center.
This deserves applause. Well done.

Edit to add something of consequence: I like the Shaq pick especially for his mean streak and strength. Good man blocker on traps and pulls according to ESPN and less astute on zone blocks, according to NFL.com, taking bad angles. I could get behind an inside OL of Jackson-Stork-Mason.

Well no, they should pick guys they think have the best chance to contribute to the team.
If they see interior linemen they think make the roster and contribute they should draft them rather than lesser players at CB just because CB is weak.

Ifo Ekpre-Olomu
I'm pretty scared of drafting a small corner who some people already thought might be too slow to cover in the NFL before he wrecked his knee.
Still, here in the 5th might not be a bad pick.
