Taking a long snapper in the 5th round seems like a pretty clear signal that the pats are not big fans of this years draft crops

The DoD has a clause where if you can benefit them more through PR or something else similar you can do that instead of serve.  Not sure the exact requirements (as I cant find them on Google) but I know its not as simple as being drafted by a professional team
