Bryce Petty is not an NFL QB.  People think Oregon's offense isn't NFL-like?  Baylor's offense makes Oregon's look traditional.  Petty is a total guess at what he is and I don't think he'll last long in the league.

He needed to be picked by a team with an imaginative offensive game plan. You're right; trying to squeeze him into a traditional NFL scheme is not going to work well.

Is the reason not to take Collins the press? At fourth or fifth round, it seems to be worth taking the chance that the police come out in two weeks and say he is not a suspect. If he is, or the situation is unclear, just don't bring him in.

He has stated he won't sign with a team and will become a free agent next season

I heard on the radio yesterday that the folks from Collins' camp said that if he were drafted in the 4th round or later, that he wouldn't sign and would enter next year's draft.  That was the only time I've heard that, though, so not sure if it's true, still holds, etc.

I believe he will reenter the draft next year, not become a free agent.

We've been back and forth on this. Yes, I doubt Kraft wants any part of having drafted two individuals later convicted of first degree murder.

Whoever killed this woman. It was not a crime of passion. Somebody knocked, she answered the door, and somebody blasted away.

According to the NFL, I believe he cannot enter the draft next year unless he is drafted this year*.  If he goes undrafted, he becomes a free agent.

* Edit: Drafted this year and sits out.

Colby Fleener looks like a more muscular version of 1994 Dave Grohl.

Didn't Tre Jackson fail a bunch of team physicals? Thought I read that this morning.

No worries!  Brady's got all the avocado ice cream he can handle!!!

Incredibly excited about this pick.  Feels like one of the safest OL picks in the entire draft, coming from a good OL program.  GREAT depth, and most scouts have been saying he's basically NFL ready right now.

NFL network is rolling Pats accomplishments in text. It's beautiful. 12 10(+) win seasons in a row.

Mildly interesting that Schefter went on ESPN broadcast to update his original La'el Collins report and issued above follow-up tweet less than 5 minutes after Pats turned in pick 101. I'd be shocked if it was the Patriots, in light of recent events, but Schefter's timing definitely raised an eyebrow.

Wibi notes above that the team might have been the Seahawks

I saw it live, and I think it was just because it was the top of the broadcast and it was news for the day. The Patriots were just picking at the top of the day too. There may be something there, but happenstance is my guess.

The only thing I can find about Jackson and medicals is that he's got some fat to shed

— Two offensive guards—Florida State's Tre' Jackson and Alabama's Arie Kouandjio—have failed multiple team physicals due to chronic knee problems, per team sources. There are always draft-week surprises when high-caliber players aren't drafted due to injuries, and the two guards are potentially in that category right now.

Adam Schefter

Patriots used 4th-round picks on DE Trey Flowers and G Tre Jackson. Based on their pattern, Patriots could opt for Trey Wingo next.

The Ravens just got my binky Buck Allen, RB, from USC. Damn. The Raiders did pick up a 5 & two 7s to move down twice.

Could we be looking WR here?

Three mid-round WRs (each with a 4th round grade from Scout) who the Pats took some extra time with are still on the board.

Kenny Bell, Nebraska - combine visit
Stefon Diggs, Maryland - workout
Tre McBride - workout

Reiss highlighted Diggs and McBride in his beyond the first round series.

That said, I'd still like to see DB.  Maybe Gaines or Shepherd?  Or Ekpre-Olomu, depending on medicals?

Garoppolo ran the same offense.
