Good for them. Exciting young team. Went to Camden once and had a great time. Can’t remember ever having any rivalry or ever really rooting against them.

And I know Angelos sucks. But they all kinda suck.

Rays blow it to O’s. Another 1 run loss. Another extra-inning loss. Futility with RISP. Unearned run was the difference to go to extras and waste a nice Glasnow start. Full blown collapse under way.

O’s beat Rays 4-3 with a run in the top of the ninth. Right before the hit to score Hicks the Rays had him picked off third but the throw from the catcher short-hopped the third baseman and he couldn’t pick it.

The Phillies have 6 hits and 7 walks through 6 innings... and trail the Guardians 6-2. Gavin Williams actually retired the first 5 batters with ease, then allowed 9 of the next 16 batters to reach base, yet only 1 scored.

Ohtani gives up 4 HRs for the first time in his career to PIT (Henry Davis with 2!), his third bad start in a row. LAA winning again, he’s not getting traded.

Did they start using the Home Run Derby ball in games after the All Star break? A bunch of teams have scored 10 runs in a game, Ohtani's getting knocked around, and the Red Sox starters have all developed gopheritis.

Alec Bohm also made a great play in that game, snagging a bullet near the 3rd base line and whirling around to get a force at 2nd. Fortunately, Trea Turner gives it all back at shortstop. I'm glad they caught Suarez's reaction on that clip – he was like, "Shit, if Harper injures himself again, they're all gonna blame me".

I know some people had problems with the way he carried himself earlier in his career, but he's a freaking gamer. They adore him here in Philly, and he's been worth every penny they dropped on him.
Pretty increíble both he and LeBron had all that early hype and have both been really good dudes their whole careers.

The Orioles just tried to use Fujinami as a setup man and he blew a 2 run lead with two walks, wild pitch, single. Brutal.

Sal Frelick is adding yet another fun young player to the NL Central. Helluva debut, 3/3, drove in the winning run, and made two spectacular grabs in the OF.

This was how the only run in CLE’s 1-0 win over PHI scored.
A great outing from Bibee, but I missed the entire game since I took some family to the AA Akron RubberDucks game. My sister and my 14-year-old niece nearly got hit by a foul ball that landed right between them and were so traumatized I'm not sure they'll come back for another game with me anytime soon. My brother-in-law and I were laughing at their reactions to every foul ball the rest of the night. I've been to over 100 games in that park and never had a ball land that close to me.

I actually think the Royals are more pathetic than the A's.

Edit: Seems like whenever the MFY season is on the brink the schedule saves them with a sweep of some garbage team whether A's or Royals or whatever.

It really is amazing how no one on the Royals has made any progress this year (possibly they're happy with Maikel Garcia being a competent rookie 3B?). With Pasquantino injured, their best hitters have been 28-year-old rookie part-time catcher Freddy Fermin and first baseman Nick Pratto... and now that the league has seen Pratto, he's just a strikeout waiting to happen. The only thing he'll be remembered for in a few years is his uncanny resemblance to Dustin of Stranger Things.

Yeah, gonna be funny when the Royals end up with a worse record than the A’s. That franchise seems in need of some new management; doesn’t seem like any of the players develop. A pretty terrible 5-6 year stretch for them.

KC got new ownership a few years ago, but he kept Dayton Moore and others instead of cleaning house. Moore was finally fired last year, but their current GM Picollo is another guy who has been there forever.

Craig Kimbrell just blew his first save of the year... and was still lucky. He gave up a lead-off single to Josh Bell. Myles Straw pinch-ran and had an easy stolen base, but Andres Gimenez swung and fouled it off... then hit into a double-play. No problem, David Fry hit a home run to tie it 4-4 and we head to the 10th.

Ryan O'Hearn GW HR today after what I said yesterday, lol. Orioles have won their first 62 of 100.

To piggyback on Semper's post above - the Baltimore fans actually showed up at the Trop for the first time I can remember recently.

The Pixie dust is strong with this team. O’Hearn and Hicks. Go figure. Not that this isn’t a very good team. Sucking for all those many years coupled with wise drafting and trading by Elias has positioned this team to be a powerhouse for the foreseeable future. With their #1 farm system, good young position players already here and strong pitching (if you don’t have them beat by the 7th inning, you won’t beat them), they will be contenders for a good while. Living in the Baltimore area is going to be hell for me.

Right Here
Some interesting matchups this week especially with the trade deadline looming...

Couple of cross-town series which are always fun:

Mets @ Yankees
Cubs @ White Sox

Games with division leads:

Reds @ Brewers (with Reds only being 1/2 game behind the Brewers for the NL Central lead)
Rangers @ Astros (with the Astros only three games behind Texas for the AL Central lead)

Contenders vs Contenders:

Blue Jays @ Dodgers
Mariners @ Twins
Red Sox @ Braves

Seems like a long-shot still, but Felix Bautista might be building some momentum to make a run at the AL Cy Young. The strength of Baltimore is their bullpen and Bautista feels like he has slammed the door on a bunch of victories for them. He's 5-1, leads the league in games finished and saves. 0.92 ERA, an ERA+ of 457. WHIP of 0.857. He's struck out 96 batters in 49 innings. He's up to 2.9 bWAR.

I bet the Phils wish they pinch ran Marsh for Schwarber now. The O's take the lead on a failed diving stab by Schwarbs near the line that Marsh might have gotten.
Have to imagine that Marsh catches that. Even Schwarber was close
