And the Rangers kick the extra point. Yes, very bizarre series.

3 games in Tampa. 27 total goals. That's a hella lot of goals.

You know what is fun about this?  The two teams I want in the finals both went up 3 games to 2 in their series.

And I instead turn around and root for the teams who are behind, because I want more game 7's.

Bishop will be a mess on Friday night.  The Rangers will be the lock of the century on Friday night.
Bishop hasn't done anything spectacular all series. Call me crazy but I don't have any faith in Hank either. He's been way too inconsistent this series and they're zapping shots in on his stick side with almost no effort.

The 2-0 shutout in game 5 wasn't impressive?

You guys are writing off Tampa too early.

Rangers had only a few scoring chances in the debacle that was Game 5. Bishop hasn't had a good series, he's been a sieve and he's moving like he's injured. That said, Hank has let in a lot of soft goals. He makes the tough saves, though. It seems like he does better on the tough ones but those wrist shots from the center are beating him on both sides.(e.g. that goal in OT or the goal yesterday)

Looked to me like the Rags were more desperate last night and really harassed Tampa in their own end. At least a couple of the early goals were created off turnovers. When Tampa's D is allowed a clean breakout, the team as a whole is able to generate speed and offense. Detroit did a good job of neutralizing Tampa's speed and skill and keeping them to the outside, like brienc posted upthread.

These two days of hockey are going to be so much fun.  I'm currently watching dafoomie's Game 7 Bruins-Leafs video to get ready for this one.

Request, Lightening:  Please bury those Rangers and wipe the grins off the faces of NY sports fans.  Many thanks.

First sign of bad puck luck for the Bolts, with a puck in the air bouncing off the top of the Rangers net...

And a good period of hockey so far, with no stoppages aside from a couple (2!) icing calls.

No whistles, so is this the start of letting them play and swallowing whistles?

Acckkk! Instead of swallowed whistles, we get the phantom call for the home team.

I was just starting to wonder if any Tampa fans were having déjà vu for an eastern conference game 7 with no goals or penalties....
