Just tell him about mine getting sealed tonight, that should help.

Also, that was a way better game than 2-0 shows.  Might be because of earlier developments, though.

It was 1-0 until 10 minutes to go, (and tied 0-0 after 2) it was an exciting game because of the closeness of the score, but the Rangers didn't generate too many scoring changes. Tampa had a lot of them. So it was probably more exciting for Tampa fans.

Rangers fans this summer: we gotta get a snipah.

AV refusing to give up on St. Louis really hurt the team in their losses. He was worse than useless. That turnover on the 5 on 3 in Game 2 turned the entire series around. It comes down to a few things and a lot of luck and everytime St. Louis did anything, it was a fail. Even in the game he scored, on a wide open net, he literally missed 4 other gorgeous scoring opportunities. His presence also killed Hagelin.

Oh well, they do need a sniper but they have mortgaged the future in a GFIN mode, which I'm not unhappy about, but the years might catch up to this team. Henrik is going to be 34 next playoffs. He's starting to get old. He can still make a bevy of amazing saves but he also let in a few soft goals, ones he wouldn't have let in years ago. I am certainly not blaming him, though, he had so little room for error. All goalies give up soft goals. But when you have no room for error, they sting.

Also, the Rangers haven't scored at home, in the conf finals, in over 140 minutes. That's pathetic. They didn't deserve to win but it still hurts, getting to the Cup is so hard.

deep inside Guido territory
They had to win it this year with the amounts of money and draft picks thrown at or traded away for players acquired. It's going to be tough to duplicate the success to get to this point again to get a chance at a Cup. Too many players disappeared in a number of games this series. Lundqvist is now a year older without a Cup. Can they expect him to be so good again to cover up his team's offensive lapses?

Trading away Duclair for Yandle will haunt this team.

The Rangers are in OK shape cap wise. They've got 1 or 2 more years of their window open. They've got $10 million (more if MSL leaves) or so to play with and have Stepan and Hagelin are the only 2 due up. Trading away all the picks and prospects will come back to bite them at some point, however.

Mentioned it last night but letting Stralman walk for Girardi and Staal was a huge mistake. Girardi's contract is an albatross, and Stralman is arguably the best defenseman of the 3.

In my opinion, they have a two year window. Then the cap and the traded away draft picks are going to catch up to them. I can't see how they can avoid it. Plus, Henrik will be 36 by then and it will be tough to remain as elite as he's been.

But this year was a very good chance. And then they played the Caps too tight (tiring them out) and I'm not sure what they were doing at home against Tampa. And letting Stralman leave was a huge mistake. Boyle for Stralman. Not good. And MSL was SO bad. I will belabor this point. He was so huge last year and the wheels completely fell off.

I saw a fair amount of Rangers games down the stretch and in the playoffs. I wasn't convinced that Yandle should have been playing over Hunwick period, he was horrendous. I have no idea how they thought giving up that much for him was a good idea. The trade might have actively hurt them just on the ice, not even considering the future cost. Tough one there.

I'm fully on board the Tampa Bay bandwagon. Stamkos is my favorite non-Bruin player in the NHL, the Jon Cooper story is amazing, the triplets line is a blast to watch, and the team plays hard and skilled without being filled with a bunch of douchebags, Brian Boyle notwithstanding.
