Ah, I didn't read the articles — just posted the tweets for brevity/clarity, not to contradict anything that might have been written in the articles.
I dunno, I think it was pretty reasonable for Dray$ to hope that nearly two months removed, cooler heads might prevail and hatchets might be buried. At minimum, not being an expert in these matters, I think it's far more gentlemanly to say "I don't accept your damned apology," start rolling up your sleeves, and allow your adversary to do same — as opposed to just hauling off and sucker-punching a dude in the face without warning. Pretty sure the law would have been on Draymond's side too, had he been less cool about it than he was.
I don't know if Draymond thought Thompson is a 22 year old college kid, but I'm pretty sure he knows he's a fairly mediocre basketball player who parlayed his #4 pick status and closeness to LeBron into a bloated $82M contract while never bothering to hone the basic basketball skills (shooting, passing and dribbling, e.g.) required of a 6'-8" player who wants to earn respect as a player in today's NBA.
