Gonna be something watching BB design a defense around Parsons next year. What will Kraft’s expletive be next year when he wins the Super Bowl with Jerry Jones
It does feel like the stars are aligning for a BB to the Cowboys type of outcome. If so, grab your popcorn!
Fine but Dallas is loaded and if BB wants another SB before he’s done, it’s hard to think of a better team that likely will have an opening.
I think BB’s mission will be to bring more hurt to Bob and Junior (and get the record) and Dallas gives him the best chance to do so.
If the Krafts paid off his $25mm and Jerry gives him $25mm/yr to go to a loaded team, well that would be well played indeed.

I don't think he can do anything to the Krafts that he hasn't already. My guess is BB is motivated to find the roster that gives him the best shot to surpass Shula and also get at least one Superbowl win independent of Brady. That and the desire to coach football all day, every day is what I suspect is motivating BB to continue grinding so hard.
Wouldn't be surprised if this gets Atlanta to offer Bill the job tomorrow.

IMO Pats fans should want a BB to Dallas outcome. They are in a different division and are annoying regardless. The entertainment value of Jerry and Bill navigating each other - imagine what happens when Jerry does his first media hit of a BB-coached season, especially if its a poor start - would be worth it all by itself.
Yeah--we could somewhat root for him, the record would be within reach pretty quickly, and there's little chance we meet in postseason.

I am rooting for him no matter where he is. I’m concerned I’m going to have a hard time rooting for the Pats with Jonathan running the show.
I’m tepid on rooting for Bill wherever he goes. People said the same thing about Tom when he left, I found that confounding so different strokes for different folks I guess.
I can’t imagine a situation I’d want to see Bill fail in more than a link up with the Cowboys. Regardless it would be highly entertaining week to week.

Your feelings are entirely fair - I expect plenty of us will be mixed to bummed out once we see BB on another team's sidelines. BB was part of two decades plus of joy for me so I want him to get his milestones. And I don't care about the Brady vs BB superbowl debate but I bet Bill does so if he gets one too, fine.
That story last week about Josh wanting to come back was almost certainly from the BB camp. He will follow BB wherever he goes.

Yes. Agreed. We have a different opinion about the BB treatment. To me that’s reason. To you, it’s the right call. The hit job in the media is what gives me pause over what I already think about Johnny.
I'm rooting for BB wherever he goes, and I hope it's either Dallas or Philly because I want to see him do some magic with a stacked team that needs some D upgrade.
Buffalo is a funnier and better pick if this is the motivation, but Dallas would not be a bad option for him at all if this is the case. And personally as much as I find the Josh Allen Bills fun to watch and easy to like, I'd have a thousand times easier time rooting for BB without reserve if it's in Dallas.
If its between those two destinations, I can stomach him winning with the Cowboys. BB taking the Eagles to the Superbowl and winning is sports nightmare fuel.
What has been published about Bill since his departure that’s anything close to as defamatory as what Henry and co. did to Terry?
If anything it’s been what has been loudly criticized by fans and analysts alike for the last couple years, which is Bill has made some questionable/awful personnel choices over the last 5 years.
I don’t think his character has been assassinated, he’s always been known to be a prick, any minor details that highlight that character defect of Bill’s ain’t exactly groundbreaking stuff.
Agreed. I’d Bills somehow lose tomorrow I could see that happening as well given his fondness for Allen.
It’s a bit different because Bill is chasing Shula’s record. He does that and his GOAT legacy is secure which adds to his Pats lore.
Also if he wins it all it also puts to rest the dumb ‘was it BB or Tom?’ debate and would rightfully show they are both amazing. I’d say as fans that’s the narrative we want in our psyche.
Why, though? Like, who are we trying to prove this too? It seems pretty clear that BB was a great coach whether he surpasses Shula or not. I can see why winning another ring would matter to Bill, but not sure why we would care as Patriots fans, now that the championship wouldn’t be with the Patriots. His legacy with the Patriots is complete at this point. I don’t think what the team or he does in the near term really can change any of that.

It's definitely sour grapes and I don't necessarily have a rational explanation for this feeling, but I really don't care to see Bill solidify himself as a GOAT. I mean, he is obviously one of if not the greatest coach of all time in my opinion, whether he coaches again or not. Most rational football fans should be able to see that.
I'll always root for the Patriots, but when the "battle lines" between Tom and Bill were drawn, I've firmly been in the Tom camp. I was happy to see him win in Tampa, as much as it stung when he left, but I was genuinely happy for him and his legacy etc. I feel as a fan, as completely spoiled as this sounds, we (or maybe just me) were robbed of seeing Tom retire as a Patriot on whatever terms he wanted to go out on. Add to that the fact that the person in charge of ushering him out the door ran the team into the ground in the subsequent years since Brady's departure doesn't endear me to root him on in his next venture.
For me it's because beyond being a parts fan at my core I'm also a big fan of football, it's history, and BB himself.
To each their own, but Belichick has given me more joy than just about anyone in the entire world, excluding those that I know personally. I'll be rooting for him wherever he goes, except when he plays the Pats.

Parcells has been complementary of Jerry Jones since Tuna coached the Cowboys. Whether BB wants to coach in Dallas, which is not exactly close to Nantucket, and whether he's OK with ceding operational control, are still TBD. This week will be telling.
The only think that would give me pleasure in the Eagles' scenario is if Lane Johnson said afterward, "Yeah, playing for Belichick IS fun, as it turns out."
