Kenny Pickett had a better game today. Desmond Ridder had a better game today. Multiple rookie QBs had a better game.
They won’t even keep Malik at the QB position, you’re not finding anything, and you have to maintain credibility with who you put out there at QB, even in a bad season.Zappe has had 4-5 chances to take the reins. It is not happening. Mac is obviously not happening. A tank seems reasonable. So why not Malik? Best case you find something, worst case you’re bad anyway.
Fourth time since 2000. One was the infamous 31-0 loss in Buffalo in 2003, another was also a loss to Buffalo during TB12’s suspension.I can't recall the Pats ever being shut out this century.
Who?It took like a decade, but SeanBerry is finally right.
There's always next week2nd worse loss for Belichick, I take it?
Even the stopped clock is periodically correct. It took like a decade, but SeanBerry is finally right.
Felger and Maz, same.It took like a decade, but SeanBerry is finally right.
2003 first game against Buffalo when Tom Jackson said after “they hate their coach”I can't recall the Pats ever being shut out this century.
No no you forget, the Steelers and several mystery teams were prepared to take Thornton if we didn’t.George Pickens just scored for the Steelers. Glad we didn't draft him.
If this season ends with the Pats having a top 5 pick, Kraft would be a fool to let Bill decide what to do with it.I think Belichick as a GM is more on trial than as a coach. Discipline issues abound, but the personnel they’re putting out there aren’t giving them a chance even minus the mistakes
Either the ship rights itself and the question answers itself, or we’re sitting on a top 5 pick and Kraft will need to decide how it gets made, and whether he’d accept the potential for multiple trades down to acquire an abundance of the kind of personnel we’ve already got on the field today.
Third baseman for the strike year Expos. Also for the Astros and Sox I believe.Who?
At least the Cowboys are a solid team. The Saints are mediocre at bestI thought last week was rock bottom. Wrong.
Tom Brady and Kyle Shanahan have given fans very unrealistic expectations for QBs drafted after the 3rd round.Mac is better than Zappe. People actually bought that this kid could play at this level?
Yeah but the defense is elite156 yards of offense. Worst unit in the league.
EDIT; fixed typo
Chaim BloomSo, . .. who is the next head of football ops?
This made me smile. Even in the midst of a lost season a mere five games in, SoSH makes it bearable.Just saw a young Pats coach with a visor on the sideline and for a split second got excited for whatever fresh ideas he has to offer in this trying time. I imagine he’s been working hard, putting in the time after hours, just waiting for his opportunity to contribute - for that moment he gets Bill’s ear. A rising talent, a future coaching star just busting his ass for that chance. Bill asks for ideas in the post-game meeting and nobody says anything. Just pure defeat and silence. And then, the awkwardness hanging in the air, this guy shoots his shot. His voice cracking, he says something that makes Bill stop in his tracks. Bill nods, and moves on. But later, the kid gets a text. Bill invites him to his office where they break down film. They stay up until 2. There’s something there. Maybe this is the start of something.
But he’s probably just the guy who keeps the walkie talkies working.
Gardner Minshew, too.And then I flip to RedZone and Desmond fucking Ridder is looking good.

Ah yes, that was a real WTF2003 first game against Buffalo when Tom Jackson said after “they hate their coach”
Felger has been a staunch Mac defender this year.Felger and Maz, same.
During Brady’s suspension shouldn’t even count. Jimmy got hurt, then Jacoby won a game but tore something or broke his thumb, so we straight up didn’t have a QBThey won’t even keep Malik at the QB position, you’re not finding anything, and you have to maintain credibility with who you put out there at QB, even in a bad season.

They also book-ended that loss to Buffalo by beating them 31-0 the last game of the regular season, and they won the Super Bowl. They won’t even keep Malik at the QB position, you’re not finding anything, and you have to maintain credibility with who you put out there at QB, even in a bad season.

1 is a misread. Nobody was calling for Zappe to get a W. They were calling for Zappe to get Mac the F off their TV.1. There are people here who wanted Zappe and even this week. We don't need to call anyone out because they are guilty of nothing but rooting for the Pats to win (there are Pats fans who root the other way imo). I am just surprised because even last season it was obvious he didn't have the tools to succeed in the NFL so thinking we'd see anything different seems overly optimistic.
2. This team is bad right now. Even if you don't like certain posters, it doesn't give you a free play to project on to others. Most of us want the Pats to do well and we can all have different ideas about what that means. That doesn't mean that you have to lead with a helmet with every post. But do you if you must...
It feels like you are working too hard to be right in a game thread. There are people here who wanted Zappe and even this week. We don't need to call anyone out because they are guilty of nothing but rooting for the Pats to win
Yup. Watch the film and get better. This is the first time I’ve listened to Mac’s press availability. Does he always sound like he went to the Crash Davis School of Press Relations?
I don't know what being right means. I am clarifying a post.It feels like you are working too hard to be right in a game thread.
This kid graduated with a degree in Communications. This is the first time I’ve listened to Mac’s press availability. Does he always sound like he went to the Crash Davis School of Press Relations?
Nah I was just calling you out for you correcting us multiple times about the relative merits of our shitty quarterbacks.I don't know what being right means. I am clarifying a post.
Sounds like you have other things on your mind besides the game or team.
This is where I was at. I legit thought they had a shot at 10-11 wins and even the division with the right bounces.I don’t know what happened after the first two weeks. They looked great on defense and working the kinks out but passable on offense. Maybe it’s just that teams have tape on them now, but this has been a rather quick decline from “we could win 7-10 games” to “maybe there’s 1-2 more wins there”.
I don't concern myself with being right- I deal in facts and evidence. But if this gives you comfort you are 100% right.Nah I was just calling you out for you correcting us multiple times about the relative merits of our shitty quarterbacks.
Again, it’s a game thread. Stop trying to be right.
You’re making this a lot bigger than it is. I am done with it.I don't concern myself with being right- I deal in facts and evidence. But if this gives you comfort you are 100% right.
What this has to do with the Pats or their situation is maybe something you should consider. I didn't lose the game today but if it helps for you to come at me go ahead. I can take it, no mods.
That game was a dumpster fire on the heels of Belichick cutting Lawyer Milloy earlier in the week after signing Rodney Harrison in the off season after finishing 9-7 the previous year and missing the playoffs.Fourth time since 2000. One was the infamous 31-0 loss in Buffalo in 2003, another was also a loss to Buffalo during TB12’s suspension.
Yes but Alabama not SyracuseThis kid graduated with a degree in Communications.
I don’t tune into football much until baseball is over and even then, I wait till playoffs before I’m invested at all. Doubt I’ll be writing much poetry about the Pats this year. My poems didn’t help the Sox much. Maybe they’d have the opposite effect here.Nah, this is even beyond the powers of @LynnRice75
Well wide open…for 2 teamsIt took like a decade, but SeanBerry is finally right.
It’s not even that complicatedJust wanted to point out how much more individually talented the Saints roster looked than the Patriots'. For a team that people always use as an example of "what, you want them to just splurge on cash spending and end up like New Orleans???" this one sure seemed like a blow to the theory that fiscal responsibility is the way to go. If the down side to spending like a drunken sailor is having that roster (who has also won more games than the Pats since 2020), sign me the fuck up.
