Bell would be a huge loss, of course, but I would still expect Roethlisberger and Brown to feast on that shit secondary.Norm Siebern said:Every Pittsburgh fan I know wanted to fire Omar Epps lookalike early in the season. The game will be a bloodbath at least. Those teams, and cities, really hate each other.
Without having to worry about a run offense, that front seven of the Ravens can make up for their secondary.Bellhorn said:Bell would be a huge loss, of course, but I would still expect Roethlisberger and Brown to feast on that shit secondary.
Doesn't appear to be what happened, according to Tomlin at the press conference. Had no problems with the hit, states it was legal.8slim said:Geez, you don't often see a head coach go after a player on-field post-game like Tomlinson just did.
I will own, as a Steelers fan, that I thought Tomlin had a very undisciplined team that played some very sloppy football during the first quarter of the team...around the same time folks around here were calling for Tom Brady's head. The team truly got better and seemed to find its identity. All that said, their secondary will have to play like it did tonight for this Steelers team to keep moving on.Norm Siebern said:Every Pittsburgh fan I know wanted to fire Omar Epps lookalike early in the season. If there is one team the Steelers absolutely won't take lightly or overlook it's the Ravens. The Steelers are better in many facets. It will be a battle, but Steelers will win.DrewDawg said:Momentum is meaningful up to the moment it isn't.
Are you honestly under the impression that teams cease to call run plays when their top RB is out of the game? Bell is a great player, but the backups are perfectly competent.Norm Siebern said:Without having to worry about a run offense, that front seven of the Ravens can make up for their secondary.
And Tony Dungee is among the most stupid people on the planet.
Here's to it, and from it, and to it again. May those who get to it, and fail to do it, never do it again.DrewDawg said:

No, I am not under that impression. But when the Steelers back ups cannot run on them, then the Steelers will cease to call many running pays. And Dumerville and Suggs will have fun. We will, however, as you say see what happens.Bellhorn said:Are you honestly under the impression that teams cease to call run plays when their top RB is out of the game? Bell's absence probably changes Baltimore's defensive approach, in terms of what responsibilities a given player has, maybe 5%? 10%? It doesn't magically liberate their linebackers to roam around the field patching holes in the secondary.
But whatever, we'll see what happens next week.
Ray Rice is available.DaveRoberts'Shoes said:I wouldn't be at all shocked if Bell tore his ACL there - hyperextension injuries can do that. The thing that might have saved him was that his foot didn't seem completely planted at the time of the hit, but either way I'd be surprised if he plays next week.
well it could allow the LBs to get deeper drops if the Ravens don't have to respect play-action and one of the bigger mismatches from last game was Bell out of the backfield being chased by Mosley. Are you honestly under the impression that teams cease to call run plays when their top RB is out of the game?
