LOL. Fox misses another drive. I mean, COME ON, you've had 4 days of this to work it out.
You can't change the network. Should I repeat that? YOU CAN'T CHANGE THE NETWORK! Stop being repetitive. So just do your job, watch it and stop complaining.

Ohhhh, burn.

edit to add, because you're a tool, bitching about Fox's coverage and them missing drives and showing the wrong shots is different than bitching about a course. The course is the course. Everyone plays the same course. But the coverage is a little more fluid. It can change. It should change. They need to show the drives and catch where they are going. That is their job.

I think it's way lower than that for these guys. 70% is 6-footer territory. They're around 40% from 10 feet.

You're right, it's 40% from 10 feet.  But, I think it's 70% inside 10 feet, meaning when you combine all of the 1, 2, 3 footers, 10 footers, etc., it averages out to about 70%.  They are like 70% from 6 feet, 98% or something ridiculous from 3 feet, etc.

Its DJ's stroke, not the greens.

Absolutely.  All anyone has to do is watch DJ's stroke from inside 10 feet and from outside 15 feet.  He's a completely different putter, and the greens have nothing to do with that.  It's a problem between the ears, as you know.

Oh, oh, I understand now. Mea culpa.

Spieth is going to win this with his B game. What a talent.

Yep. He's pushing most of his misses.

  • ianjamespoulterI look forward to congratulating the 2015 US Open champion very soon, I simply didn't play well enough to be remotely close. This is not sour grapes or moaning or any of that crap. It simply the truth. Mike Davis the head of the USGA unfortunately hasn't spoke the truth about the conditions of the greens. I feel very sorry for the hundreds of greens staff who spent countless hours leading into this week and this week doing there best to have it the best they could and I thank them for that. But look at the picture. This was the surface we had to putt on. It is disgraceful that the USGA hasn't apologized about the greens they simply have said. "we are thrilled the course condition this week". It wasn't a bad golf course, In fact it played well and was playable. What wasn't playable were the green surfaces. If this was a regular PGA tour event lots of players would have withdrawn and gone home, but players won't do that for a major. They were simply the worst most disgraceful surface I have ever seen on any tour in all the years I have played. The US Open deserves better than that. And the extra money that they have early this year from Fox Sports, they could easily have relayed the greens so we could have had perfect surfaces. Simply not good enough and deeply disappointing for a tournament of this magnitude. I don't like it when people lie on camera to try and save face. And to all you fans that paid good money to try and watch us play golf but couldn't see anything on most holes because it wasn't possible to stand on huge slopes or see around stands, I apologize and I'm sorry you wasted your money traveling to be disappointed. I hope we all learn something moving forward to not have these problems in the future. Happy Fathers Day.

The picture that poulter put up with that post was disgraceful if those were the actual greens.

Can't say I do. I think one audience would appreciate the music way more than the other

My feeling about this Fox broadcast is they don't understand the demographic that watches professional golf. Or at least felt they can apply the stuff they do for other sports to this.

That looks like filtered nonsense. They are showing the ground version on a lot of these putts and you don't see anything like that.

That's them.  The course is over run with Poa, which is basically a weed.  Once it gets on a green, the players track it on their shoes to the next green.  That's why the greens look yellow in spots.  It's a completely different grass than what is the natural surface.  My club tore out and replaced all 18 greens over a 2 year period when Poa started appearing, and it wasn't nearly as prevalent as it is at CB.  Poa is fine if that's the intended surface and it's all Poa, but when the surface is a different kind of grass, and Poa is just dotting the landscape, it's terrible, and that's exactly what it looks like is happening there.

Edit:  That's not say that picture is a perfect view of what it actually looks like, but I can guarantee that most weekend golfers that played there would go home and tell everyone that they just played the worst greens they've ever played.

Funny. Oooz now looking at the hole like Spieth does. If more guys start doing this, and I bet they do, you'll see it everywhere.

A local course I play a lot is bordering on having to do the same thing. They just assessed the members for new carts and a barn for the greens keepers, so they will hold off, but it wouldn't shock me of they looked like that in two years time.
