Guess getting off NESN didn't help D&C.
So when John Dennis tweets to someone yesterday that D&C is the most listened to morning show in New England, is he full of shit?

Not necessarily.  T&R are referring to solely the Boston market, since that's where 98.5 resides.  Dennis is adding up all eight network signals WEEI has, covering five states.  It's like bragging that ESPN has more viewers than NESN or CSNNE...of course it does, it's got far more reach.

Fred with somewhat of a mea culpa on the Patriots fans with the victim complex and continuing to bring up the deflated balls. Said he came around after he saw Tomlin crying to the media and hopes it isn't like this all year after teams lose in Gillette. As bad as he was on it last week it was refreshing to hear him say this.

What time was this? I'd love to give it a listen.

I don't know exactly but it was at first in the 6am hour. He definitely touched on it in the last segment of the 9am hour around 9:45 or so.

I think Fred is generally a pretty honest guy in a BS field of work; this is certainly one of the things I like about him.

What was passed along as "baseball talk" by Wallach (and Fred) around the 7:30 mark this morning was just insufferable. When Wallach talks about "mailing it in" he should look in the mirror.

Rich said this morning that Bill Simmons reached out to them and will be on the show late next week. I hope Simmons is as candid as when he trashed Ordway/WEEI on Felger's 98.5 show a while back.

Well they certainly haven't lightened up on the Draft Kings or Fan Duel ads yet on Comcast.

The interview was pretty solid.  It sounds like he may possibly call in to the show on a semi-regular basis in the future.

I heard the last five minutes or so and thought that it was pretty good. What did Simmons talk about for the other 55 minutes?

I only heard the first two segments but it was pretty much all ESPN related. Fred said they'd get to the HBO stuff and Pats/Colts but clearly he thought that the ESPN stuff was the juiciest.

I missed parts of it but first break was about how Simmons made it. Holy Cross, Herald, Internet, AOL etc. How he was kept out by the lodge. WEEI in the 90's was arrogant and as Simmons described it "they were the station selling water in the desert and bragged about how people bought the water" he called Ordway I believe the "dark lord of sports radio" and how he'd fill The Big Show with people dumber than him to make himself look good. He did credit Bob Lobel as the only one in the Boston Media to give him a chance.

Then it was a bunch about ESPN and then into the NFL. I missed the last 30 minutes though.

Agreed. He is awesome with stupid routines like that. Big Bang Clock, Mark Davis, and Eddie Money have all made me laugh out loud.

Fred has got to tone down his Cub's fan impression.  It isn't funny, its just annoying and grating, and he does it way too much and its way too repetitive, he says the same 3 or 4 phrases in his old man/old timey baseball voice...it sounds like a shriek.

They can replace it with their Ray Lewis bits which are always home runs. The Charlie rose interview was magical.

Sounds like most Cubs fans I know.

I don't mind it since he's a Cards fan and despises Cubs fans. It's not like he's just doing an act, it is real annoyance.

It's probably just as annoying as people having to listen to Red Sox fans about the Yankees prior to nobody giving a shit anymore. Hell, people still post the greatest GIF in history here 10 years later.
