I'd rather see the Red Sox get no hit than lose 1-0 on one hit if I were at the game. It's more entertaining and historical. My answer would change if the opponent were the Yankees. So ... if the Braves were playing the Red Sox, you'd have wanted them to complete the no-hitter?
Well, I guess I just answered my own question. How does an MLB catcher start with a 2-for-43 success rate on steal attempts?
4 bases > 1.Well, I guess I just answered my own question.
He's world serious.d’Arnaud doesn’t crack a smile.

Well boo on them for forgetting Lonborg.Great job by Braves staff but in reporting the story I think ESPN is forgetting Jim Lonborg taking a no hitter into the 8th. They are saying this was the 3rd longest no-hit bid by a starter in post season history. It's at least 4th.
The Acuna Theory, coming soon to a Simmons podcast near you.Do you know that old saying that it's good to be in first place on the Fourth of July? Well, the Braves were under .500 after the Fourth of July games.
Wasn't it Bob Ryan who wrote in the Glob that it was a shame that Everett or someone like that broke up the Mussina no-hitter at Fenway? I've hated that guy ever since. So ... if the Braves were playing the Red Sox, you'd have wanted them to complete the no-hitter?
the Glob is a very nice Freudian typoWasn't it Bob Ryan who wrote in the Glob that it was a shame that Everett or someone like that broke up the Mussina no-hitter at Fenway? I've hated that guy ever since.
I was at Lonborg's 1-hitter in '67, sitting in right-center, and coincidently saw Ian Anderson in November 1969. I thought he sucked, he should have been pulled after the 5th song. IMO the '21 Braves are better than the '69 Jethro Tulls.Great job by Braves staff but in reporting the story I think ESPN is forgetting Jim Lonborg taking a no hitter into the 8th.
