I really hope the bidding gets to 20 million for Brock and Elway retains him. Best signing for the other NFL teams since Jump Ball Joe Flacco.

I'd be really surprised if they offered that much. The Pats seems overly disciplined when it comes to position salary equity. Am I wrong about that? I can't see them paying another WR $6 mil a year and expecting Julien to deal with his $4 (Assuming they restructure Amendola, of course).

The Titans got DeMarco Murray in exchange for swapping fourth-round picks with the Eagles. A 13-spot drop. Pretty close to free.

No not really. $5-$6 is what he's worth and Detroit had to overpay to get him to go there. I don't blame the guy for grabbing as much money as he can get but I hope he enjoys sitting at home in January.
He's 26 years old. This is his first big contract. NFL careers are short. He's already missed 21 games due to injury. Or we could just go with, "Wahhhhh he didn't take a significant pay cut to join the Pats! Have fun sitting home in January loser!"

He took more money to go to a team that is 0-7 in playoff games since 1991. That's a fact. Again, I don't blame him for taking more money for the reasons you listed. You could lose the snark if you disagree with me. It comes off as childish.

And you come off as pathetic and having no clue when you bash a guy for not taking a significant pay cut to join your favorite team. When you stop doing that, I'll stop being snarky.

Among the teams interested in veteran RB Matt Forte: The #Jets and #Dolphins. His market will heat up when the other RBs sign.
Jets are 6 million under the cap with a bunch of roster slots left to fill, including QB. They can create some money with a Wilkerson extension, but there isn't too much wiggle room beyond that, unless they want to cut Mangold or Ferguson.

This is starting to look like the Romo extension situation all over again with Wilkerson. Jets are gonna go over the cap, leaving Wilkerson and his agent to bend them over during negotiations, which is exactly what happened to Dallas a few years ago. What a position for a guy coming off a major injury.

well... This will be a sad off season for the Browns

Multiple agents echoing criticism that #Browns are being extremely hesitant in negotiations

Issue w/browns isn't not spending $$ - free agency is fool's gold - it's more the tenor of talks and how they're being perceived by agents.

And pulling an offer with a player who had played out his rookie deal doesn't help with their perceptions problems. Lot of grumbling..

If the Browns turn corner and win - huge if with them - it won't really matter. But plenty of grumbling going on now from players/agents..

That's what happens when you don't have a football guy running the show in Cleveland. They get what they deserve because they don't learn.

Broncos getting decimated.

As for the Pats, I really, really like Rishard Matthews. Scared about how much he will cost in this market through. $7m for Sanu is bonkers.

I said that in the Broncos thread. I think that would be a smart 1-2 year signing as a stopgap and they should draft a QB this year

Depends on the money, of course, but you do wonder whether the way things went down in Denver drove a deeper wedge than thought
Agree. Brock shouldn't have lost his job back to Peyton and that probably was the reason he is gone now.

The Broncos spent 4 years grooming Osweiler for the starting job, and just when it's his time to take it, he's a FA and he leaves for a presumably lesser team.

They had to have anticipated this when they benched him for Peyton's rotting corpse.
