Well, I'm probably going to regret this, but, meh, I still want a 6th starter. And, hey, there's nothing at all risky about taking a guy who's coming off a Tommy John surgery and who won't be available until a couple of months into the season, right?... But, ah, he was pretty reliable and consistent before that (29 or more starts for the 5 years prior to last year with an ERA+ of 99 or better). So, hopefully he can come back to give something like that at some point this year, and for a few years going forward.

Can't sleep even though I have to be up early tomorrow... it's like I knew it was my turn to pick or something.

anyway,

Brett Cecil (RP3)

nasty in relief in the first half last year after converting to the bullpen, even made the all-star team, then he kinda broke down. Apparently Darren Oliver is teaching him to 'save his bullets' this year in spring training, so he's got that going for him, which is nice.

This will be my last minor leaguer. Not much glove for the bench but maybe a decent bat.

Thomas La Stella BP-----Ken was a dumbass and didn`t read the rules

Unless I'm missing something, he's not eligible.

EDIT: I mean, if I'm wrong someone correct me but he's not a BA top 3 prospect and he's only hit AA so far.

I'm going with Carter Capps, RP.

He's got a damn good fastball and great K rate. I think he was unlucky last year and will have a great career over the next five years.

I reread the rules. I thought if he played AA and AFL he was eligible. It looks like he also has to be a top 3. So I`ll make a different pick.

Yeah I was mainly thinking of La Stella and Arismendy Alcantara when I was complaining about the top 3 thing. Would have been a good pick.

Both would have been gone a long time ago had they been eligible for selection.   They would have been great picks there but they wouldnt have been there to be taken

After Scoops took Withrow, I hoped he'd fall. So close. Nice pick.

I am going to go with a setup guy here who has shown strikeout ability and could fill in to close out some games when needed for me.

RGB selects Jim Henderson, RP Brew Crew

In 2013 Henderson had a 11.25 K/9 with an 88.4 LOB%, if he can get his Ground Ball Percentage back to 2012 levels he will flourish for me over the next few years as he is only entering his age 31 season.

PM being sent now.

It's crazy how many times he stalled at AAA and finally broke into the majors going on 30.

I had considered him a couple of rounds ago before I decided I needed some more pitching. He's pretty good as a utility guy.

Also, seeing sons of players that seem like they were still playing not too long ago makes me feel old.

I was hoping one of Vic Black or Chris Withrow would make it back around, but oh well. I'm going to go with a lefty for my pen. He was just as effective against RHH as he was against LHH last year and that was in the AL East. He's now in the NL West and I think he's going to get even better. He has the potential to be an extremely good relief pitcher and may even get the chance to start occasionally which would make him even more valuable.

The Wonderbeards select Alex Torres, RP

Sorry, I actually meant the opposite. I have a majestic beard that would make Nap proud.

Jeff Baker, DH

This guy can play multiple positions and crushes lefties. He'll be part of a platoon, obviously.

El Boat de Dream. A slick-fielding MI with decent OBP skills and who had a down 2013. He isn't Tulo or Iggy, but a 24-year old with MLB-level skills is a nice piece off the bench/injury insurance.

He'll be part of my uber-infield rotation and swap in at 2B and SS, rotating with Villar and Alexei.

There's about 4 pitchers I was considering here, so I assume some of them will get back to me next pick.

With Iggy out my options at Ss have disapated. I was looking at this guy a little later but will have to take him now.
