Yes, I posted in the Pats thread there. Sounds like someone had a big mouth. The caller was right. Was anyone listening this morning? Caller called in who said he had direct knowledge of the Jack Jones case and said it had been moved up to today and almost every charge dismissed.

The segment has a different... energy... now that Murray has been replaced by Kendra Middleton. You can practically hear them leering at her. That aside, she's great. Hopefully the guys someday get used to having a pretty young woman in the studio and calm the F down when she's there.Wasn't listening early enough to catch it, but then again I don't really see the appeal of the Bankroll Boys segment to begin with. No idea who at 98.5 thinks gambling talk makes for good radio, but they are wrong!
That segment has been underwhelming for quite some time. For me the low point was an episode where Rich was reading Lifshatz's twitter fights. I caught a bit this morning. I hope Middleton can breathe some life back into the segment. Frankly I would be fine with the entire thing going away. This Bankroll Boys segment is a disaster.
No one knows anything about gambling. Actually, I should amend that, the only people who really know about gambling don't go on the radio or TV to talk about gambling. They just do it. People who think that they know about gambling or want a shortcut to breaking into gambling spend a lot of time talking about gambling. But it's all bullshit.I know she's on NESN but what exactly does she know about gambling? I have NO idea why this segment is still a thing.
Being better than Joe Murray is a low bar, but Middleton is an upgrade just for the fact that she isn't shouting about stupid stuff. I don't know much about her, but she seems comfortable talking gambling with the guys and I wasn't getting a creepy vibe from Rich and Fred when I've heard a couple of segments where she was in studio. If that's the case, I'm assuming she's cute and Fred is falling all over himself trying to be charming. The segment has a different... energy... now that Murray has been replaced by Kendra Middleton. I hate to say it, but she kinda reminds me of my niece (a Barstool Athlete with a similar social media presence).
Not shouting about stupid stuff? This was the first time I’ve ever heard her, and I thought she was a flaming idiot. The Mac vs. Tua argument with Lifshatz was one moronic take after another. Pointless and unfunny. Get rid of the segment.Being better than Joe Murray is a low bar, but Middleton is an upgrade just for the fact that she isn't shouting about stupid stuff...
She's not very good at gambling talk. She's a generic sports fan who will have generic betting takes. "I think the Cowboys cover the spread because Dak will have a good game!!" stuff like that.Being better than Joe Murray is a low bar, but Middleton is an upgrade just for the fact that she isn't shouting about stupid stuff. Rich was talking today about how much yelling and people thought the segment sucked. Fred said something along the lines of “I was reading somewhere how Lifshatz live in an echo chamber and it was a perfect description.” I laughed remembering your post because I laughed when I first read it it’s so true.Lifshatz seems like the type of guy where 95% of his interactions are with people online within a small echo chamber. When he has to have a conversation with actual people, he cant believe someone else would have a different point of view or would push back at all.
That was the best part, he's was basically like "you understand how rare this is that he'll genuinely never admit he's wrong and then look disgusted with anyone who disagrees. He was disgusted by me mentioning the Ringer, no one at The Ringer gives a shit who Dan is"I loved it when Fred said about Lifshatz: "I'm actually envious of Dan ... I've really have maybe never met someone with a higher opinion of themself".
Fair - but those don’t involve him talking.I disagree. I think Wallach is a valuable part of the show — when Fred and Rich are there. His presence over the years has given us the huge Wallach head, the classic Wall-dick where ya aaattt? drop, the bit where callers talk about seeing Wallach in public and being “Wall-dicked”…that’s some good stuff.
The step down from Crash, who could fill hours at a time with his weirdness, to Wallach, who gives them maybe 5 minutes of making fun of him a month, was massive. That said, I think a “Wallach & Roachie” show would get cancelled faster than anything in radio history.
This is exactly what will happen.I thought Johnson was very good too, but I just don't see Wallach getting the Celtics full-time job. I think a prominent national broadcaster will get the TV gig and Grande will stay where he is.
My all time station changer is fantasy sports talk, but gambling isn't far behind now that places like DraftKings are advertisers so it feels like this "casual" talk of how whoever is placing what parlays is incredibly forced. Similar to what Barstool did years ago when all of the sudden everyone was a degenerate gambler. Are listeners interested at all in the gambling talk? Also, does anyone care about Dave Richards and fantasy football? I’ve never understood the appeal of either.
The listeners might be, but isn't one of their most prominent sponsors a betting app?Are listeners interested at all in the gambling talk? Also, does anyone care about Dave Richards and fantasy football? I’ve never understood the appeal of either.
