I love his competitiveness, but if his offense isn’t there his rotation minutes need to go to Hauser. Gives us better size and we have enough ball handlers that Pritchard should never be the primary creator. He is really fighting it. He becomes unplayable if he isn't making shots.
Agreed, but how do you know ahead of time he's not going to make shots? He's got a pretty good history of doing that, despite how bad he's looked lately. He is really fighting it. He becomes unplayable if he isn't making shots.
I didn’t watch the 4th but Pritch needs to see a couple go through the net early on in Game 5.Agreed, but how do you know ahead of time he's not going to make shots? He's got a pretty good history of doing that, despite how bad he's looked lately.
Bud Light and Mac ‘n’ cheese in the fridge?Pritchard is Bellhorn.
Remember when Taco had a -3 +/- in one second of playing time in that Miami game? I can laugh about it now.Smallest but most fun plus-minus sample ever. If PP had not played at the end, he would have had a positive .75 plus- minus per second.
Best part of that shot is that he totally traveled. Took like 6-7 steps.
No refs looking at his feet though.Best part of that shot is that he totally traveled. Took like 6-7 steps.
And Luka whacked PP's hands on the follow thru. Call it a wash.Best part of that shot is that he totally traveled. Took like 6-7 steps.
I thought that the second he took the shot and was just waiting for the refs to call it back until the third quarter finally started.Best part of that shot is that he totally traveled. Took like 6-7 steps.
If that’s not a travel, I will never understand the travel rules. And if that same move is made for a normal 3 pointer, I would bet refs would call a travel, even if somehow the rule says it’s not. This account seems legit and says it’s not a travel. Good enough for me. But seriously the travel/gather rules are kind of confusing and slow motion makes it look worse. I don’t think it was a travel.

Luka missed the FT so the Mavs never really got set on full court defense. It's pretty amazing that he is out of the gameplan tonight except for final secends he goes in, everyone in the stadium knows what is coming (except for maybe the Mavs), and Pritchard himself knows exactly what shot he wants to take and when. And he nails it.
Look at the scrolling screen at 1:43Best part of that shot is that he totally traveled. Took like 6-7 steps.
The Harden/Tatum three step sidestep/step back three point shot is essentially the same thing as what Pritchard did, but it’s in a different direction. And that’s never, ever a travel anymore, at any level. If that’s not a travel, I will never understand the travel rules. And if that same move is made for a normal 3 pointer, I would bet refs would call a travel, even if somehow the rule says it’s not.
I definitely wasn’t thinking travel when I saw it live but slowed down, it does look like one to me.
Either way, sweet shot!
He certainly extended meThe title should probably be tweaked to the present tense. He does indeed extend.
Well, it should be in my mind but that’s a different discussion. The Harden/Tatum three step sidestep/step back three point shot is essentially the same thing as what Pritchard did, but it’s in a different direction. And that’s never, ever a travel anymore, at any level.
I think Hauser was Bellhorn. Had a really bad ECF, but coach stuck with him and returned to form for a great finals.Pritchard is Bellhorn.
Until his second hand touches the ball, he can take as many steps as he wants. Once his second hand touches the ball, it's two steps and a pivot. If that’s not a travel, I will never understand the travel rules. And if that same move is made for a normal 3 pointer, I would bet refs would call a travel, even if somehow the rule says it’s not.

That's pretty sweet. Congrats PP.
I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't realize how close he was to averaging double figures last year. Good chance he gets there this year with the Celtics likely wanting to give Jrue more rest, plus KP out for awhile (which will have ripple effects all down the roster). He really did have an incredible regular season, playing all 82 games, averaging 25/5/9 as a starter (just 5 games, but still) and averaging 13/3/5 with a .622 TS% after the all-star break. Especially considering he barely played when it mattered in 22-23. Far more than a fun trivia question ("Other than Brown/Tatum, who is the only remaining Celtic from the Ainge era?").

Maybe change it to "Drafted in BOS by Ainge?" That is how I was taking it- though your point holds on re-readingLuke Kornet?
I know 5 games is an SSS, but I'm surprised there aren't more rumors of rebuilders chasing him. He's now strong enough not to get relentlessly hunted on D.I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't realize how close he was to averaging double figures last year. I wonder if the Lonnie Walker signing could have been done with an eye to moving Pritchard and reducing tax hit.I know 5 games is an SSS, but I'm surprised there aren't more rumors of rebuilders chasing him. He's now strong enough not to get relentlessly hunted on D.
It would be fun to see him greenlit, with starter minutes in some place like PDX.
I have always been under the assumption that he was going to eventually want a chance to start, and I don't see that ever happening here as long as they are trying to hang banners, so I've always expected him to ask for a trade eventually. This feels like a "take one more crack at it" with this group and next offseason will have many more moving parts and I think he'll be one of themI wonder if the Lonnie Walker signing could have been done with an eye to moving Pritchard and reducing tax hit.
i don't think any team is under the illusion that he can start though, are they? I can't think of a team that is 1) lacking a starting PG, and 2) is either trying to lose or trying to win, that would want him. Maybe if it is a straight salary dump?I have always been under the assumption that he was going to eventually want a chance to start, and I don't see that ever happening here as long as they are trying to hang banners, so I've always expected him to ask for a trade eventually.
