Any idea what time their fight will actually start?

I don't wanna get to my friends house 3 hours before they get in the ring.

Mayweather's camp has banned Michelle Beadle and Rachel Nichols from the MGM Grand for reporting on Mayweather's domestic abuse history.

The Mayweather camp is denying this:
http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/12807978/reporters-say-their-credentials-were-revoked-floyd-mayweather-manny-pacquiao-fight

Kelly Swanson, a media relations spokesperson for the Mayweather camp, denied that Nichols and Beadle has lost their credentials.

Kelly Swanson @kellyswanson1
No one including ME banned @Rachel__Nichols from covering the fight. She is already credentialed. #Facts

Kelly Swanson @kellyswanson1
And @MichelleDBeadle isn't even on the press list. She's credentialed through @HBOboxing. Yes credentialed. #Fact#2

Later Saturday, Beadle said via Twitter that she was told Friday she was not credentialed and left Las Vegas. She said HBO was able to get her credential approved late Friday night.

Swanson told USA Today: "I'll take it as a misunderstanding. But Rachel Nichols was never banned from the event. She's been credentialed the whole time."

She added: "We didn't even know until late afternoon who was going to be in the arena. CNN received one seat in the arena, and it was up to them to pick who could go in the arena. We could not make that selection. We let those producers decide who they wanted in that seat. She's always had a credential."

Banning reporters is not a particularly smart thing. Because you know, they'll report that (or pass it to other reporters).

If Floyd wins is he the greatest boxer of all time? Over Ali, Tyson, etc?
I'm a casual so I'm genuinely curious what people who are more knowledgeable about boxing think.

Goodell to Floyd: "you can do that? I didn't know!"

Yeah they just have a shitload of ads and they don't let you use adblock. I'll actually probably use vipbox since they do let you use it. Also remember to use .eu instead of .com. It's almost better than boycotting, you're basically stealing from Floyd!

Nah. Still wouldn't have the resume of Ray Robinson for starters.

atdhe and footyfire are two other options, if you want to steal from Floyd.

I think he's already ahead of Tyson, though.  At least close.

But, yeah, Sugar Ray Robinson, Willie Pep, and Henry Armstrong in lower weight classes and Ali, Duran, Louis, and Johnson for heavys are no brainers, with cases for a bunch more.

Yes...but be careful. If it says you have to download something, it's not true. Lots of pop-ups and whatnot there.

I'm watching the PPV preview on HBO. They're talking about how Manny's strength has been his ability to punch from all sorts of different angles. Kind of reminded me of what Marciano said about Tyson in that 25 years ago thread. Is that a fair characterization?

@janesports: Rachel Nichols makes it clear this was not a misunderstanding. Quoted email denying credential. Shes owed an apology by Mayweather flack.

Yeah. Lots of fighters with power need to be set to punch. Guys like Tyson or Manny can punch from any angle at any time. Think of it like infielders who can throw from their knees or across their bodies, as opposed to guys with rocket arms who need their feet set and their mechanics repeated.

Thanks, all. I manage a dormitory full of international students studying in the city, and even they are jazzed for this fight. Gonna try to hook 'em up.

I think both of them. As a rule if you type in .com and find a friendly message from the federal government, try .eu

Am I the only one who thinks it would be hysterical if after all the hype and expense, this ended in a quick 1st round KO?

No it'd be hysterical if Mayweather dances around the ring and wins in a decision and 90% of the people watching think what the hell did I just pay $100 for?

I'd love it if Mayweather leaves the fight with an inability to enjoy even one penny of the money he is set to make tonight. Love to see Pac knock him out and then learn that Mayweather will need a ventilator to breathe for the rest of his pathetic, woman beating life.

This is what'll happen, right? He'll dance and run all night getting potshots in and fleeing.

I think Manny will go balls to the wall, and try to prevent Floyd from doing that. I think Manny realizes he doesn't have much to lose -- he's not the one with the undefeated record.

Tyson gives his opinion on where Mayweather ranks in the boxing pantheon. Last 30 seconds or so, good stuff.

kept wondering what happens if a trainer throws in the towel five seconds into the fight and it's over. everyone still gets the giant payday?

I am thinking an Ocean's 11 scenario where the MGM gets robbed after the power is knocked out and a riot starts.

According to multiple Twitter feeds its parts of Comcast, time warner, directv, charter and AT&t. What a mess.

Haven't checked yet, watching end of Clippers-Spurs first.

Plus I hate battling through the pop-up ads.

I don't know about hysterical, but it would be stunning.  Much more likely to go the distance.

IMO he's ahead of Tyson, behind the rest of them.

EDIT: And I have no idea how Duran got on the heavy list.  Editing gone awry.

is it worth going to a bar and paying $30 to watch this? there's one near me showing it that's probably empty...
