Man, the Seahawks sure did create a lot of cap room just to go out and sign no one.
Re-signed Noah Fant 2 years, $21M and Leonard Williams 3 years, $64.5M. I'd have rather had Parkinson back instead of Fant at their prices, but it's a small difference. Williams came back slightly cheaper than I expected and signing both of these guys doesn't impact potential comp picks. I expect they'll be bottom feeding the rest of the time now.

I appreciate the insight.

I'm super curious about the idea of trading for Fields and pairing him with a lot of offensive weapons.

Thoughts?

The SF effect is really something, you just need to be on the roster to be considered valuable.

Spending money on their defense, having a great offensive line and two great young WRs...and you bring in fucking SAM DARNOLD?!?

If there was one team that made sense for a Fields trade, it would be the Vikings. Even if he sucks, at least there's some ability to squint and see the logic. I have no idea what the logic is here.

Sam Darnold: 1 year, $10m
Jacoby Brissett: 1 year, $8m
Russell Wilson: 1 year, $1.2m

Which one is the best deal? (pretty sure I know which one is the worst)

He's a running back that can't throw worth a shit, and can't read defenses. The Bears would have to send me a draft pick to take him. Hard pass.

0-3 to 4-3
That seems cheap. Why wasn't Dallas willing to beat that? Maybe they're working something out with DHenry?

Feels like BB/McDaniels would have maximized the next 2-3 years in Atl. Maybe I'm too low on Morris.
i doubt couiuns wouild had went to atl if bill was there
bill not being a coach hurt denver this year as i think he wouild had giveien a 3rd for simmons he has always liked him
might been on jerdy as well

Sorry J-man, you really are in QB purgatory. I'd find a way to get McCarthy or hope Peyton still has some magic left to coach up Nix. These other options are seriously lacking. This is the kind of year you break in a young QB and hope to start seriously rebuilding in 2025.

Jerry Jones's "all in" is starting to look a lot like Tom Werner's "full throttle"

With all those draft picks, and knowing Darnold was likely gone, the 49ers still wouldn't part with a sixth for Mac

I am still convinced that the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys at this time next year is one Bill Belichick.
At least when Bill rips Dak in film sessions saying he could pull a kid from the nearby HS who would be a better QB he might be right.

One could squint and say Mariota is more like Jayden Daniels than Drake Maye...

On the other hand, Daniels is much more likely to be ready to start week one so with Maye there is more incentive to invest in the backup QB slot. I'm not sure you can read too much into it. Other than them probably having a deal on the table for Sam Howell.

And another addition by subtraction move.

Gesicki will probably put together some good games, being surrounded by 3 top tier receivers (assuming Higgins stays for the time being), but given Burrow's propensity to take shots and get hurt from said shots, they better not ask him to try to make a block for the Franchise QB or their season could end quickly.

Crablegs to the Browns for 1/$8.7m according to BleacherReport. That is quite a QB room in Cleveland. I assume this means Flacco's not returning?

Maybe Flacco goes to DEN?

They’re fairly tight against the cap so I’m not sure why his saber rattling was ever taken seriously.
Cowboys fans aren't very smart and Jerry could announce that he's going to start ignoring the cap because he's developed the ability to shit gold and ESPN would report it unquestioningly.

Dobbs was a fun story for a week or two last year but overall he was terrible and got benched

Darnold isn’t good but at least he has a little bit of upside if you squint hard enough.
I always thought that the Jets gave up him a little too early. He actually played decently down the stretch after the famous “I’m seeing ghosts” game, going 6-2 after starting the season 1-7. Those Jets teams had very few options offensively, especially after it became clear that Le’Veon Bell was cooked. Those Matt Rhule era Panthers weren’t much better.

Mooney at 3/39 is terrible value. Worst signing I've seen a GM make so far imo.

Darnell Mooney getting a larger contract than Saquon Barkley just ain't right either.

Yeah no idea what ATL is doing with Mooney, that is paying for his 2021 season which is the outlier of all outliers.

They have Bijan, Allgeier, London, and Kyle "are people tired of waiting for me to turn into something yet" Pitts. I'm not sure how spending that amount on Mooney makes sense. I especially liked Rapsheet calling Mooney a "key new playmaker." He's the 4th- or 5th-most important "playmaker" on that team.

I think it's an overpay, but the only real difference between 2021, 2022 and 2023 for Mooney is that in one of them he got 140 targets and in the other 2 he got 60. He's the same guy, and that guy is a #3 WR. Which makes it funny that they paid him so much to be their #2/#3 and probably get 60 targets again for 450-500 yards

Henry is on the downside of his career but that sounds like a terrifying team if they have the lead.

Poor offensive decision making with not running Henry with a lead in the playoffs or a Jackson injury are the only things that can derail them.

I like this signing for Baltimore. I detest Harbough but this is a great signing.
