If Allen did indeed need TJ surgery, BUF seems like an awfully good spot for TB12 to run it back next year.
This would be worth it just to see the discomfort on the face of my co-worker who roots every week for the Bills and whoever is playing Tampa Bay.

Maybe I just missed the sarcasm tag, but BUF wouldn't be able to afford Brady. They're projected to be $11M over the cap to start the 2023 league year, and have very little wiggle room to sign their picks, let alone add free agents with any sort of high dollar price. An injury to Allen, especially a long duration one, would be catastrophic to their team, as he's literally irreplaceable.

Money probably doesn’t matter much to Brady, even after divorce and FTX. He’s got that $300 million waiting for him when he’s done winning.

Perhaps, but if money didn't matter, he'd come back to NE, who could risk trading Mac with Zappe in waiting, and have the money to pay him. There's also the looming spectre of the NFLPA and their agents giving Brady hell for playing for free (which is basically what he'd have to do) in BUF.

No, if he doesn't return to New England or retire, I'd expect Brady to reunite with McDaniels in Vegas, presuming Josh doesn't get canned before then. Perhaps that's even how McDaniels lasts - "I can get you Tom!". They have the cap space (~$33M), the need at QV (they could easily cut Carr for a measly $5M cap hit) and have the wideouts to give it one last go.

I'm guessing that means he'll miss this week but they want to keep the Vikings guessing.

They know they are super bowl contenders/favorites if he's healthy. No need to risk that this early in the year.

It’s true but they’re in a weird spot. They give away this game and they could end the day in 3rd place in the AFC East (Fish a half game up and down tiebreaker to Jets).

True, but short-term trouble doesn't mean as much at this point.

Careful posting from Twitter for NFL news, and really news in general now since Elon broke the verified system.

A brand new parody Twitter account that paid for verification and chose the display name of ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted Josh McDaniels was fired. The credible-looking tweet received nearly 10,000 engagements. Twitter suspended the account after two hours.

Waller and Renfroe both headed to the IR for the Raiders. DeVante Adams might get 15 targets this week vs the Colts...

People in the mentions or saying those are not cheerleaders, but something the Warriors have called the "Dancing Moms" which makes it way funnier.

It's also hilarious that CMC is to Jimmy's right, Kittle and Juice to his left, and they all basically get ignored except him.
I'm sure they know CMC is spoken for., and it's very public too.

Perhaps a Harvard degree isn't the aphrodisiac it once was, re: Juice.

As for Kits, not sure, but he's certainly no Jimmy G visually.

I am skeptical. The Raiders don’t earn enough revenue to fire him and his staff now and hire another coaching staff, but they will in a year? Everyone knows Davis isn’t an independently wealthy owner, and they just financed a new stadium, but I’ll need to see a lot more evidence before accepting the assertion that a franchise like the Raiders aren’t bringing enough money in through all of the usual channels to replace their staff.

From a Raiders beat reporter:

Florio talked about this on his podcast this week. In addition to the liquidity problem, he thinks the Raiders' 10-7 season/playoff appearance combined with signing a "put you over the top," older and expensive receiver in Adams set the expectations for McDaniels that the team was on the cusp of breaking through -- when in reality, Gruden had left the team in pretty bad shape and while Rich B did a decent job last year, they had a cookie schedule. He also thinks that the contrast in style between Gruden (feting celebrity veterans & shitting on replaceable guys) vs. McDaniels'/Belichick (everyone has to put in the work, no special treatment) has given some guys in the locker room whiplash.

I think his broader takeaway was that while things haven't gone well, when you look past their expectations they're a better team than their record and McDaniels deserves more than 10 weeks to install his program.

Ironically, it was Davis himself that helped set those expectations. I can't find it now, but didn't he basically call McD "the final piece" or somesuch that made it clear that that bigger things were ahead..

I think with the Raiders offseason, coupled with what they achieved in 2021 with that kind of turbulence in the coaching staff there was plenty of reason to believe McDaniels could put them over the top. The roster is talented, the QB is competent, there's more than enough to work with there.

I remain convinced that Brady will be rejoining Josh in Vegas next year. Carr is under contract, but could be jettisoned for a paltry $5M cap hit. Brady is a free agent after this season, and has no real loyalty to Tampa (who also stand to get killed on the cap in coming years, so that'll be fun). The Raiders are projected to have about $30M in cap space, so a 3Y/$60M that pays him $40M up front, $10M in real salary, the rest in bonuses. The offense has what Brady desires as far as good weapons. The only drawback I see for him is how good the rest of the division is, as opposed to the NFC South cakewalk he's had for 3 years.

All true. I was responding more to the post with vanEveryman's post & Florio's point that last season's achievements might have been somewhat overblown.

Well, the forecast is 36" -- 48", which is kind of a lot.

Pretty sure an Eagles game was moved a few years back because of snow.

EDIT: 2010. Eagles/Vikings game postponed.

Buffalo game in 2014 got postponed and moved to Detroit.

The last time a game was moved out of Buffalo due to weather was in 2014, when a Week 12 game between the Jets and Bills was moved from Sunday afternoon at then-Ralph Wilson Stadium to Monday night at Ford Field, a domed stadium, in Detroit. Buffalo won, 38-3. The NFL made the decision on Thursday of that week to move the game after multiple days and feet of snow.

I heard that if the Browns can't fly they could take a boat instead. That'd be awesome.

Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
In the rooms of her ice-water mansion
Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams
The islands and bays are for sportsmen
And farther below, Lake Ontario
Takes in what Lake Erie can send her
And the iron boats go as the mariners all know
With the gales of November remembered

All he does is fumble, so I understand, but Denver waived Melvin Gordon.

Granted, the issues with Denver are reall the coaching and Russ the Fuss, so kind of blaming it on Gordon is weak.

Denver fucking sucks. I continue to hope for their suffering.

Gordon fumbles a lot... he's also still a pretty good RB, I bet he ends up catching on somewhere and playing well in the change of pace role.
