THe downside of drafting really well is you start to have a lot of good players who wants a lot of money coming up for extensions near each other.View: https://twitter.com/MikeGarafolo/status/1503362238954061826
A little surprised by this, given he was a starter in every game for them the last 2 years, but I guess they felt like they signed him for RT money, but now would play him at G.
None. Easy enough to say to for example JC Jacksons agents yesterday "we're looking for a ballhwaking number one corner, what do you think the market is for that" and get a rough answer.Noon today is the start of the "two day negotiating period" - i.e., legal tampering. Official free agency begins at 4:00pm on the 16th. How many teams are NOT already in negotiations with free agents, before the noon "start" of the legal tampering period?
Peter King in his Monday column says watch the Chargers on JacksonNone. Easy enough to say to for example JC Jacksons agents yesterday "we're looking for a ballhwaking number one corner, what do you think the market is for that" and get a rough answer.
Good player. Given the ample cap space Cincy has, this is a great move.Alex Cappa to the Bengals for 4/40, per Schefter. Pretty good money for a guard, but they usually don't hand out much in guaranteed money and hopefully he's still ascending at 27. Either way, it's a massive upgrade from what they trotted out last year.
He'll definitely be a big improvement in protection and it was a move that had to be made. I'd like to see them get a little more athletic with the 2-3 other openings. They've been short on athleticism there for a while and the results have shown.Good player. Given the ample cap space Cincy has, this is a great move.
Probably an upgrade from last year. They have a good team, just neeed competence from the QB position. Still not sure this it but worth a shot depending on the money.View: https://twitter.com/MikeGarafolo/status/1503414347367919621
Trubisky the expected starter in PIT.
Interesting move, he was not good in CHI, but he also had a coach who appears to have been terrible.
Carolina/NO/Seattle?Indy seems like the only potential remaining destination for a Jimmy G trade unless Cleveland is going to jettison Baker.
CAR/NO/NYG/DET/SEA all probably interested if the price is right though 1 of them probably trades for WatsonIndy seems like the only potential remaining destination for a Jimmy G trade unless Cleveland is going to jettison Baker.
That is true, but what if Mitch outplayed Ben by a sizable margin, that would be glorious!View: https://twitter.com/rapsheet/status/1503414508152307712?s=21
This really is silly season. Even Trubisky is lauded as a notable get.
I am here for it all, though.
NO can't afford another expensive QB. NYG seems dedicated to another year of Danny Dimes. Seattle and Carolina make sense -- only one of them can trade for Watson.CAR/NO/NYG/DET/SEA all probably interested if the price is right though 1 of them probably trades for Watson
NO made an offer for Deshaun Watson, so maybe you should tell them they can't afford it.NO can't afford another expensive QB. NYG seems dedicated to another year of Danny Dimes. Seattle and Carolina make sense -- only one of them can trade for Watson.
that's crazy money IMO
Seems like he might be a decent stop-gap if they decide to draft local boy Pickett.I actually think Trubisky is a decent gamble. He’ll obviously never live up to his draft status but he has tools, the coaching in Chicago certainly didn’t do him any favors (they always seemed to produce more when Nagy ceded playcalling) and the reports from Buffalo appear to be pretty positive. I’d much rather they have signed an aging retread.
Cinci really attacking that porous O-line. Two new guards.
Don't shoot him; you'll just make him madBengals Twitter seems to be pretty high on the Karras signing. Any Pats fans want to offer a scouting report?
Solid professional guard whose name you will not hear and someone you won't think about for games at a time. Not that mobile; even if you watch line play pretty carefully you'll rarely see him making a great block especially in the running game, won't see him downfield much or pulling, etc.Bengals Twitter seems to be pretty high on the Karras signing. Thanks - appreciate it. Cappa’s strength also seems to be in pass protection so it looks like they’re going all in on keeping Burrow upright.Solid professional guard whose name you want hear and someone you won't think about for games at a time. The Texans could easily take on Hill's salary. The Niners could not.NO made an offer for Deshaun Watson, so maybe you should tell them they can't afford it.
Kirk just blew up the WR market. That’s some huge dollars for a slot receiver.View: https://twitter.com/Marcus_Mosher/status/1503446335789449222
Well that makes the Cooper deal look great
Edit- also makes the deals the Patriots gave out last year look really good. Kirk is young but there is a very good case his year last year was worse than the year Agholor was coming off.
I like him too, and wish for his sake, he could have gotten away from the Jets. You're a horrible friend.Good for Braxton B. Always liked him.

I really doubt Kirk regrets it, he'll get his guarantees up front then hit the market again in 2-3 years still in his prime having been force-fed targets to justify his moneyLol ridiculous deal. Both parties are going to be regretting that one within a year.
OMG. Davante Adams must be a happy camper right now.Kirk just blew up the WR market. That’s some huge dollars for a slot receiver.
Jags out here spending Shad’s money in a big way.
Edit: it’s even worse.

I think that in general, the consensus is WR talent is better and more plentiful than ever. This year’s draft class is loaded.I've felt like the NFL WR market is going to go the route of the NFL RB market in that these dollars are really going to come down hard over the next couple of years. They're passing so much more in college now and that in turn is churning out more and more high quality NFL ready WRs. Much more supply available which should put downward pressure on the demand.
But then I see things like the Kirk contract and realize I don't know squat.
I had assumed this was just a reference to Trubisky's height. Then I remembered he's not even tall.View: https://twitter.com/rapsheet/status/1503414508152307712?s=21
