Ibaka out for the rest of the postseason with his calf injury, that is horrible.

Yup. That's a huge loss for OKC. SA might score 120 points / game. Durant will have to be Superman for OKC to win this.

Strangely, I'm not as worried about Ibaka being out than Westbrook. And OKC beat the Spurs once without Westbrook this year. Reggie Jackson and Steven Adams have played well against the Spurs this year, so there's that. We'll probably see more Nick Collison, who does some good things. I guess I haven't completely given up on the Thunder in this round.

I wouldn't rule OKC out either, but Ibaka is by far their best defender. Adams is very helpful if he can stay out of foul trouble, but that is a huge if.

Should be a great series. I expect Parker to either miss game(s) or be limited with his reinjured hammy so that balances things out. Whoever wins this series will be the team that wants it more /markjackson

No one on Indiana's team requires anything close to a double team yet Miami has spent most of the quarter doing just that.

Say what you will about Lebron James, but I think we can all agree that he's thoroughly uninspiring during prematch huddles.

Pacers shooting 63% and only up 6.  I know Miami is shooting 56% but the Pacers should be up by more -- doesn't bode well for the 2nd half.

This is abysmal defense. What in the hell are Hibbert, George, etc going to do one on one? Theyve shown the entire playoffs an almost refusal to move the ball, you just make it easy on them by doubling

The Pacers are starting to Pacer here
Not so ironically less than a week after Bynum left the team and on the day Turner stayed home with strep throat.

I could be wrong, but I think that was the part where the Pacers started to throw the ball around.  And not to their teammates.

Last year, it seemed that the Pacers would throw away three or four possessions every half.  If they can cut that down and get good shots instead, which they looked like they did this game, they would be hard to beat.

They match up so great with Miami. The Heat have one advantage.....LeBron James. If he doesn't carry them the Heat aren't advancing. The flip side to this is that LeBron usually carries them. Should be a fun and long series.

I only watched the second half, but I thought the Pacers won the game with their defense in the paint. LeBron got no easy baskets down low, and neither did Bosh.

yeah I was talking about the part where Miami chopped it down to 7 or 9 after Indiana started to chuck it all over the court.  Fortunately they got it together and Chalmers helped by going rogue.

For me, one of the most fascinating things about the NBA playoffs is to watch the various adjustments made by the coaching staffs.  It's a lot easier to see in the NBA than the NFL (for example).

So for this series, the idea of putting David West on Ray Allen was brilliant - at least for yesterday.  Allen hit one 3 over West that I can remember but also missed several others.  Having West chase Allen mean that the Pacers could keep their size on the floor when the Heat went small, and the Heat couldn't defend against it.  If the Heat can get the Pacers out of this matchup, and the Heat doesn't want to play extended minutes with both Bosh and Anderson on the floor at the same time,  (brings Hibbert closer to the rim; less spacing), they are going to have to figure out some kind of adjustment.

Maybe they go Rashard Lewis instead of Chalmers?

Will be fascinating to watch.

Can't see OKC beating SA 4 times with this porous defense.
Funny thing is the defense was nearly as porous when Ibaka was on the court in the LAC series.

He has to be looking at 5/50 or something like that on his next contract, right?

He is going to get paid.   The guy is legit and now he has a San Antonio pedigree.  People will pay for that too.

Durant and Westbrook are going to have to combine for at least 75 to win games with Ibaka out, that is asking a lot.

In addition to unfair drafting procedures, there is a big game on tonight. I know Hibbert can be a beast, but Miami doesn't even appear to be trying against him. Nobody is getting a body on him on the offensive glass.

wade with a knee that would be illegal in the UFC to a downed opponent somehow isn't a foul

I have a ton of respect for Indiana fans calling Lebron out on that bullshit.
