Round up of the last few weeks aside from Julio Cesar and Bunbury:
* D.C. United signed Spanish left back Christian Fernandez Salas, last of Almería. Meanwhile, they released Casey Townsend, a bust of a draft pick from 2012.
* Colorado dealt 28 year old(
!!!!!) Honduran defensive midfielder Hendry Thomas to FC Dallas after failing to come to terms on a new contract.
* Colorado signed Joe Nasco, who was the NASL's Best XI keeper last year with Atlanta. Matt "Slim" Pickens appears to be on the outs after losing his job to Clint Irwin last year. They also signed DM Jared Watts, a second round pick out of Wake Forest, and GK John Berner from SIU-Edwardsville.
* Colorado's backup LB Kory Kindle, who didn't make an appearance in his rookie year, has retired to become a physical therapist. Ah, MLS.
* KC signed 20 year old Colombian midfielder Jimmy Medranda on a permanent transfer from Deportivo Pereira after he spent time on loan there last season.
* Columbus released Shawn Sloan and added a pair of draft picks -- MF Fifi Baiden and LB Ben Sweat.
* Vancouver picked up a backup GK, Paolo Tornaghi, who was cut loose from Chicago.
* Chivas USA signed their 2nd round pick out of Clemson, MF Thomas McNamara. They also signed a defensive midfielder out of the Argentine Primera -- Agustín Pelletieri, who comes from Racing
* Chicago dumped a pair of players: midfielder Brendan King, a journeyman who had previously made stops in Ireland and Norway, and Kellen Gulley, a failed academy product.
* LA officially signed a pair of players from their academy: the delightfully named Bradford Jamieson IV, a forward, and Mexican midfielder Raul Mendiola. Jamieson is a recent refugee from Chivas USA's academy. Mendiola was the back-to-back USSDA Player of the Year, but has been in limbo for a while. Rumors were that Pachuca wanted a training fee from a stint he had there years ago or that he had paperwork issues or both. Anyway, he apparently he a green card now. I'd expect to see both in USL Pro with LA Galaxy II.
