Gave up lots of scores? They were eighth in points and amongst playoff teams only the Seahawks, Cardinals and Ravens gave up fewer.

The conversation between FF and Simmons tells you everything you need to know.  He claims that he knows "all the guys" who work for the Patriots and that he "knows" that they cheat.  Everything he says about the Pats has to be seen through that lens.

Of course, the hilarious thing about this assertion is that he is on the radio for hundreds of hours a year and yet has never actually explained precisely how they cheat.  Easier to just accuse them of unspecified wrongdoing than assert something specific and be proven wrong, I guess.

Predicting Mike's take on tonight: Luck was clearly hurt, Colts shot themselves in the foot with the weird 4th down play, Pats lucked out again.

His assertion that he "knows all the guys, and I know they cheat" probably means he knows/knew guys with Parcells that worked with Belichick in the 90s and have an axe to grind for some reason, and say shitty things about people that ended up on Team Beilichick and not the sinking Team Parcells after the Jets debacle.

"Oh ya, Mike listen: I was a coach for thirty years, and Belichick, who never played the game mind you, thinks some wet nose kid from Wesleyan knows more about coaching than I do? I don't know how they do it but I wouldn't be surprised if they are up to something. But hey, that didn't come from me!"

Mike is going to troll pats fans so hard today. I hope none of you guys are suckers. He was on a kick the second year of Rex where he just trolled Jets fans unmercifully and they just fell for it over and over. A caller even called him out on this. Mike started laughing and cut the call short.

As for cheating in general, I think leather is exactly right on what Mike meant. I don't think cheating is bad though. I want my team to cheat as much as they can get away with. I think all these dudes "cheat". In baseball, why does the catcher look like a twitchy person getting ready to pray the rosary when someone is on 2nd base? Because it is known that "stealing" signs is part of the game. In pro sports the best rule to live by is: if I didn't get caught, I didn't do it. The problem for Belichick is that he is just so god damned good the whiner brigade has tried to change the narrative. The best example of this in recent times is Saban talking about having the pats line calls or something and everyone thinking it was a hoot. If Bill did that and admitted it, he probably loses a draft pick.

Francesa's "hate" for BB/pats has been a constant for 15 years.

Today he'll rip Pagano for throwing away a win, that his was a 1-score game and that the refs blew the on-side kick call. He'll mix in that Luck moved the ball at will, but will ignore the Pats D shut down the Colts for almost all of the 2nd half, He'll set this up as the Pats are vulnerable to the Jets D, and a topic for the rest of the week.

Mix in the main course of M-E-T-S, and Giants/Eagles for desert, you got a show.

Exactly. Mike is incapable of hiding his bias when he talks about the Pats. Everything is looked at through the same negative lens. It's better just to laugh at him and realize that Fatso probably hates Belichick because he didn't fetch him a Diet Coke at Giants training camp back in 1986.

Francesa isn't going to troll hard because he's going to focus on the Mets. He's spending most of his football show talking baseball. He'll talk most of his typical shit about the Pats when the NFL comes up, but 90% of the show will be NLCS and Giants-Eagles. He's not a complicated man and what he's going to cover is pretty straightforward.

I usually can barely make it through a few minutes of his air time but i had left it on and i think it was a live commercial he was reading for some Honda dealership. It was the most monotonous thing i have ever heard. He sounded disgusted to be reading it. I can't imagine if i was a Honda exec that i would be happy if i had heard it. I'm sure most of his commercials are the same. It seems disrespectful to me.

If those fucking Brad Benson commercials show up on any radio station i am currently listening to for now and forever it will be immediately turned off for the remainder of that day. Those freakin spots are so painful.

Urban Meyer is the best coach in any sport.

Jets "unfortunate that Tom Brady is still QBing the Patriots."
FF didn't watch the postgame or read any comments by Bowles to find out why he didn't take TOs in 4th Q.
Brady decided in the 4th Q he wasn't losing the game, and that's what decided the game.
Impressed with the Jets.

The NFL is game to game because of injuries alone, but the stage is being set for some world class trolling of Mike by callers.

You cannot slyly tease that somebody may make the AFC East "interesting" and brush off games like last night's. And at a certain point, you have to account for two fine defensive efforts in 5 days.

He'll be fine with the trolling because it makes for good radio and signals that he is still relevant. But the fanboy in Mike has to be growing more frustrated with each passing week, and the play of his binkies -- peyton and andrew -- is only making him more miserable. I am sure.

All about the Dolphins being bad and not ready to play

He did bring up the Fins D playing well after the 7-0 lead. Somewhat true except for the pure DPI miss on the LaFell play and what I thought was almost a pure DPI on the Gronk play.

Nothing about the Pats at all

Real shocker

Mike from Montair pushing FFs buttons. Awesome

FF says Mets can't lose game 6 and win game 7.

Obviously idiotic and Mike from Montclair called him on it. That wasn't what put FF over the edge

He complained about Harvey breakup with Model GF being in the paper

Where in the paper did you read it? Yelling

Page 6 WHY R U READING GOSSIP PAGES, MIKE?!?

Very unstable to lose his cool over this crap

"Tannehill played awful, just awful" "Dolphins 15 or 16 critical errors"  "Dolphins not ready to play that game last night".  Not a peep about Pats D, or anything positive about the Pats performance, for that matter. All Fins mistakes. I give up.

Nance had a lot of real positive things to say about the Pats last night.  Hopefully he and FFF square off this Sunday morning.  Nance is the only person I hear really fight off and take issue with FFF's anti-Pats bias, probably because he can't get hung up on like a normal Pats fan..

maybe he'll kill Spag, the DC, and praise Eli/Tom.McAdoo for the dynamic offense

but if the Mets lose tonight, any skewering will be diluted or delayed

the schadenfreude level listening to Mike/callers may be off the charts in the Mets go down tonight

His opening was fantastic. Mets. Definitely worth your time.

Also mocked the Giants "I think the saints just scored again" when going to the break

The Mets losing the World Series has him in his passive aggressive glory. His Diet Cokes probably taste like the real thing today.

Now defending Luck as the best young QB

Blames it ALL on the OL

Says the last pick was a fluke

No mention of the previous 2 picks and the multiple lucky non-picks

Very amusing

He did admit he had cracked ribs

The rare times he gets his bias out of the way, he can still bring his fastball

the Cowboys stuff was hilarious - a guy misheard something and then he went off telling us the guy said the Cowboys were the best team in the league, etc. and that the guy probably complained about Romo and now Romo is the saviour, etc,

Plus his take on Cespedes is spot on - the Mets were not going to sign him anyway and the bad series and silly plays exposed his weaknesses - weaknesses obscured by his 17 HR in 44 game tear.

But his blind spot on Luck verges on absurdity at this point. I watched the gaem last night and NONE of the picks(I was asleep by OT) or moronic throws had anything to do with the OL. But he has his mind made up about Luck and hes sticking to it no matter what the facts are. Just like Ballghazi.

I watched the OT, and that pick can't be blamed on the OL either.  It was poor judgment ... he threw to a well-covered receiver.

As usual, he goes to extremes. I like Luck. A lot. But even his staunchest defenders admit -- across the board -- that he is way too careless with the football. Stanford grads should know better.

To Mike, that is just him being a "competitor".

Mike is very bitter that Brady eclipsed Peyton so badly, and that the Peyton to Luck baton handoff is in shambles.

Bingo. This is Mike being pissed about Brady. Same reason he was pissed about 'the worst play call in NFl history!' He was just mad that the Pats won. He can't speak rationally on this topic and Luck is a big part of that.

FF says the Giants can't win on Sunday. He doesn't think their defense is any good, and he doesn't think they can put pressure on Brady. We'll see if he changes his tune by Friday.

As I was typing this, another guy calls:
"Mike, how are the Giants going to cover Gronkowski?" "Badly. Very, very badly."

Classic talk radio show host talk... "no way they can win, don't have a chance" they lose "told you so" if they win "they were scrappy, proved me wrong, glad to see it" or some variation (since most fans are just happy the team will have won).

Can't lose really.

Right, if the Giants somehow win then Tom is a genius. If they lose, he can say 'I told ya so.' Classic Mike.
Thanks for posting those, I was wondering what he would say about the game today.
