This is funny stuff: Francesa screaming:

Jets Nation? There is no Jets nation!!" There's Red Sox nation everbody else is stealing that. The Giants have great fans but they don't have a nation"
If I was Woodie I'd throw my TV out the window"

He spoke in paragraphs rather than sentences or words. Beautifully constructed opening statement in his cause to clip the GM. This has been forming for a while and this weekend cinched it.

Sensational!:

Idzik also mentioned the concept of “Play like a Jet,” which Francesa ridiculed.

“What does that mean?” he asked. “Commit a penalty, or fumble the ball, or drop the ball? Which one is that: Play like a Jet? We know it’s not play well, because we’ve all been here all our lives!”

This is an instance where the simulcast really adds value because he appears so genuinely offended by the situation. If it's only performance art, he's performing at an A+ level.

Mike had a good day yesterday.

As a point of contrast between the Jersey A and Jersey B teams, after thoroughly gutting the Jets, and calling into question every aspect of organizational competence, Francesa had informative and friendly interviews with Coughlin, Jerry Reese, (GM) and Eli.

There will be a lot of discussion of the Jets and a preview of the Giants. There was one other game he will not care to discuss very much.

On his Sunday show, He did say he gave them a chance today, but the Patriots still aren't a very good team in his opinion.
He'll say the Broncos made some mistakes on Special Teams that you can't make on the road and that Denver's defense isn't on an elite level. He'll kind of leave it at that with maybe some praise for Brady.

Then for the second week in a row, the defense of of one of his two darling teams was eaten alive. Indy + Denver = grumpy Mike

"Tom" Mike's affectation is that he's on a first name basis with Tom.

and to be fair, he took the Pats and the points.

First hour. Not a mention. Lol.

Edit. -- and I mean literally not a mention of Pats/Broncos.

He mentioned Pats only once in the context of Jets not having many victories in the schedule left.

This has only been the most significant single game this season thus far, with the arguable exception of the Colts recently getting destroyed.

"I did not take anything out of that game that would alarm me from a Denver standpoint."

Just a sloppy day at the office.

There ya have it.
Totally expected that. He never gushes for Tom, always for Manning. If the teams and results were reversed it would be a different story from Mike today.

If the results were reversed, he would not be referencing the passing yards for each QB, as he did today.

That is the football equivalent of "we spent more days in first place than anybody else."

Oh I'm not surprised at all. The Playoff game in Denver last year was a statement in Mike's mind. The regular season game in which Denver blew a 24-0 lead in the second half was a fluke because of the way it ended in overtime.

I also think it's funny that sometimes total yardage is important to Mike ("Peyton threw for over 400 yards!!!") and other times it's not ("Don't barthah me wit yardage... yardage is meaningless...")

Good Pat win not a bad Bronco loss.

I think we watched different games.

That's hilarious. Wonder how he feels about those Patriots-Giants SBs, then. You know, when a team actually was a couple of literal bounces away from winning two titles.

It was a cleverly executed troll. He put it at the end of his list of games. He goddamn well knows the significance and enjoyed bucking what he said was the conventional wisdom -- a Pats blowout. Probably trying to stir up some antagonistic phone calls.

Agreed. Also, if Russo was there today he'd be destroying Mike on that: WHO CARES MIKE! BRADY WON THE GAME! THOSE ARE GARBAGE STATS! EVEN PEYTON SAID SO AFTERWARDS! COME ON MIKE!
