This team is on fumes. Lost effective starters in Sale and Houck. Cora’s tried all sorts of options at short and this Hamilton kid is the worst. Thin at catcher with McGuire’s injury. Casas can’t seem to field a ground ball. Kiké can’t hit. Yoshida has to be hurt. Too many holes in the dike.

I had seats near the Bruins bench one night when Adam Oates, I believe, took a skate to the cheek that opened a hole big enough for him to stick his tongue partway through it and gross out his teammates. Took like 80 stitches and returned for the 3rd period with no visible deterioration in his play.

Cora’s comments on his progress read like an elliptical version of Parcells talking about Terry Glenn. Pisses me off watching the ball get cuffed and booted by each and every SS du jour. (Nuit, I guess). I don’t have all the facts but it sure seems like an utterly gritless response to a genuine team crisis.
