OOH and there is the Tyus Jones deal, word had been he REALLY wanted a chance to start before his next deal, WAS will let him run the show.

Tyus to WAS, Brogdon to MEM to be the PG until Ja is back, then likely slide to the 2 where he is a defensive downgrade from Brooks but a MASSIVE shooting upgrade

Celtics might be getting something else, maybe the Girzz first? Otherwise Smart could’ve just gone to the Clippers.

Deal has to be bigger now. Smart and Gallo isn't enough outgoing salary since Marucs makes less than Brogdon

There needs to be more salary moving and Smart has way more value than Brogdon so I kinda hate this While I loved the Brogdon trade. Unless the Celtics are getting more back, which seems doubtful.

edit: ok the two picks makes more sense. Maybe they can bund those with Brogdon to get a point guard (I view Brogdon as a 2).

Ouch that hurts. Well Memphis certainly upgraded from Tyus Jones to Smart, good for them sniffing the blood in the water. Smart covering Ja's early vacation will be somewhat palatable if other players step up.

Edit: Two first rounders is kinda steep though.

Wait, so it is....

Smart (and maybe something) to MEM
Tyus Jones (and maybe something) to WAS
Porzingis and TWO 1sts to BOS?

Porzingis and 2 firsts for Smart is a very nice deal. The guy isn’t going to age well. Brad sold pretty high here.

Smart has his lapses but more often that not he is distributing the ball. Brogdon is rarely ever doing that and White not much better. And forget Pritchard.
It’s still a promising trade but they need a ball handler/distributor badly or it’s going to be a lot of point Tatum

ESPN trade machine says trade doesn’t work with just Pritchard added to Smart and Gallo.

This has escalated.
Simmons' current podcast talks about how conservative Brad is and how he doesn't take chances. Tonight changes everything.

I just hope they cleared this or at least discussed with Tatum/Brown. I think they are both smart enough (no pun intended) to get that basketball is a business but they’ve been teammates with Smart literally their entire careers.

Indianapolis Brogdon was a better distributor than Smart has ever been. He just wasn't asked to play that role.
