Do yourself a favor and review the gameday pitch locations. The A's were swinging at pitches WAY out of the zone. They are AAA hitters at best.

LOL what the hell are you digging in so hard on this for? He struck out 11 in 5 innings, 2 runs allowed, with none after the bad first inning. At that point it was a good start. Not an amazing, heroic, perfect start, but a good one.
Sox bullpen is 4th in the AL in innings pitched. I think tonight was more about Cora just trying to get more length from his starters and not keep burning the good relievers.
I assume they will bring in the Amish kid to pitch the eighth innin, assuming the Hutterite gets Butler out.

Carrabis and Papelbon are talking Backyard Baseball on the alternate broadcast and it's still better than D'OB and Youk, I think. Papelbon is oddly compelling in this unstructured environment. Plus, he swears, which they seem to be cool with.
