Connor Wong is blowing up this week and nobody is noticing it.
He's had a great month. OPSing .784 in July prior to his 3 hit game tonight.
Duran, Masa and Casas (of late) have been getting all the headlines but this kid is good with the bat and on the bases. If he is credible on defense, let him cook.
They’ve certainly let him cook. Since McGuire went down, he’s caught a shit ton of games.

This might be why they didn't send him home in the eighth inning. Last thing they need right now is to get Wong injured and have to rely on Alfaro as the primary catcher

for anyone...Durran didnt get credit for a stolen base inn the box score i saw, why? because he was thrown out at the plate? In my view he stole two bases 2nd and 3rd, and then got thrown out at home which I guess technically is a caught stealing? makes no sense to me, if you wait to see how it ends to score it. Did I just see a bad box score, or maybe the Acid from the 70s impacted my brain.

He advanced to second and third on a groundout. It wasn’t a steal attempt.

Ok thank you. And thats why getting old is better than dying, but not much better than anything else.
So he did get picked off once, that counts as a caught stealing yes? Or do I have that one wrong also.

Yes, later in the game he was caught leaning and picked off first.

Added bonus: first home series win at Fenway against an NL team
Gosh, your added bonus point is staggering.
Well, this was a fun game. Lucky me, I showered during the Jacques inning. When I got back to the TV, I was surprised to find Martin in all that trouble.
The ESPN take on the Sox (the main broadcast) was so much more positive than the view here on Sosh. I guess it was just part of their narrative of the evening, namely that Mets spent big $ in the off-season and are under-performing, Sox spent less and are over-performing. Nevertheless, it was interesting.
