I was happy to put one of my favorite players Luis Aparicio in the Red Sox-Orioles cell. And, of course Tito as a favorite for the Boston-Cy Young cell?

I got so excited about middle left that I forgot the middle/middle square was lit. I always think Steve Stone won a Cy Young for the White Sox. He didn't but guess who he did win one for.

Well WTH…I thought I was being super clever for the Braves 20 win season by saying Babe Ruth but it said I was wrong. I thought that scenarios like that didn’t have to be the accomplishment with that team?

Yeah. That's only for career stat, not season stat.

Was trying to think of Earl Williams and came up with Andy Etchebarren instead. Surprised Moncada was so low, I would have thought a lot more people would have taken the other side of the Sale trade. And it's the one chance to use Dewey.

Nice work on the bottom row. I thought about going with Lonborg because I figured he had to have done it in '67 but I chickened out.

Single season accomplishments have to have been with the team. Career accomplishments can be associated with any team the guy played for.

Pretty simple grid today. I'll echo the disappointment with the Cy Young options for the two teams. I nailed the most popular answer on both which squashed my hopes for a low score.

9/9, 55. I like my grid today.

Great pull for the upper left, but I'm shocked your lower left only has 3%. He's the first guy that should come to mind when thinking about the the wins stat. I avoided him, along with Pedro and Clemens because I figured they were too obvious. I had Lonborg typed in for that square but I wasn't 100% that he had 20 wins that year, so I went safer. 193 total score.

The one that you were going to use was the one that I was going to use too but like you I wasn’t sure if he won 20 that year.

The further back you go, the less percentage you will get even if the player is super famous. There was an article about MLers playing this and a Met player asked who Tom Seaver was.

Late to the party, but I like my grid today, as well. I just hate that the White Sox and Orioles Cy Youngs blew up my %

I'm stunned Lowe was only 2% and Bob Gibson was only 3%. Almost outsmarted myself thinking Steve Avery won 20 games. 68254

9/9 rarity score 142. Played this one very safe, used the human cheat code and didn't go with Pedro for center right because I wasn't confident he had pitched long enough to get there

Totally whiffed on Twins-Dodgers, can’t believe I picked anyone other than Nick Punto.

EDIT: To be clear, I gave a valid answer, just not one optimized for entertainment value.

Guessing I'm not the only one who was sure that Clayon Kershaw had 3000 K.

They did this and failed on the pre-game for Jays/Angels. Wasted 2 picks on LA/3K. Kershaw(very close) then Hershiser(not close).

I’m awful at this but pulled my first 9/9 today with a score of 163, surprised how popular Clemens was for the Yankees 3K.

Once again, the achievement category suffers from too few options, this time for any of the teams, so low percentages for them are going to be tough to get. My choice for Dodgers 3000K was what I thought would be a low percentage and he's the most popular choice because the alternatives were there much more briefly and are definitely better known for pitching elsewhere.

Still another 9/9 and I'm happy with a sub-200 rarity score given the above.

51 today. Not a lot of options for the bottom center square.
Pic didn't load.
Tito Francona (0.1) Jamie Moyer (2)Chuck Klein (1)
Doug Jones (0.1) Nomar (3) Lefty Grove (0.6)
Dave Winfield (11) Cap Anson (29) Roberto Clemente (4)

I re-watched game 6 of the 1988 ALCS on Apple TV+ the other day, which put me in the mindset of an all-former-Red Sox-pitcher middle row. I was very lucky to have my Cub with 3000 hits pop in my mind very quickly - happened to use him the other day in a Gold Glove category.

I made a classic blunder: tried to enter Gary Matthews, but wound up clicking on his son by accident instead. I would've gotten the Cubs' 3K hit guy wrong, anyway.
