Haven't posted in a while but today's was kind of a special one.

For played catcher 1 game/1 team I used Bill Mills who was born in Boston and graduated from Holy Cross. He played in just 5 games in 1944 with the A's.
He was also my 7th grade math teacher!

Played for Providence in the New England League in the late 40's.

An opportunity to remember two Red Sox catchers of my youth: Andy Merchant and Roger LaFrancois (he of the .400 lifetime batting average). If I remember correctly, the latter was on the roster for all or most of the 1982 season and Houk found him 10 plate appearances.

Interesting to note that when they have the 1st round draft pick category, the player need not sign as a 1st rounder. I read the little info box which didn't exclude that, but I still didn't expect it to actually accept Tommy Hinzo as an answer, since he was 1st round draft pick three different times (back when there was both a regular and secondary phase draft each year). He didn't actually sign with a team until he was a 7th round pick, but sure enough, he works.

This is probably the best I've ever done. Although I had to settle for 8/9 Clevelanders, because after using Boudreau for my 2B/C answer, I couldn't come up with another one for SS/C. Of course, as I type this, I realize I've forgotten about the negro leagues again and Quincy Trouppe technically was a Cleveland player and fits the category.

I don't have anything comprehensive, but it's happened before. #272 had 2 guys, Kiki Cuyler and Ryne Sandberg, who were HoF, AS, and had seasons with 100 RBI, 200 hits, and 30 SB for the Cubs.

Edit: Yount was 1 HR away from it getting all 9 a couple days ago, #447.

Edit 2: a few weeks ago, #433, Vida Blue, Walter Johnson, Bob Gibson, Clayton Kershaw and Justin Verlander are all: MVP, threw a no-hitter, 2000 Ks, 40 WAR, 200 Wins, and a season of 200 Ks.

Edit 3: #426, 9 players with 40WAR, .300 Batting Average (although Freeman could lose that any season as he's at .301), 300 HR, played 3B, plus a 100RBI season and a 200 hit season:

After I posted I pretty quickly thought, "yeah, there likely are some other grids like this that I'm not remembering." This one was just so obvious even I saw it.

(My own little personal grid aspiration is for a grid to come up where I can use all players with the same last name. I haven't found one yet, but I think I'd have to cheat my way to it anyway.)
