I guess Liverpool felt guilty about getting a freebie, decided to give it back.

Well, that was a helluva VAR. Le Saux was right - that picture quality was so poor, how could you really draw an accurate line?

California. Duh.
Keeping an eye on it even though it's totally pointless to Liverpool as far as where they'll finish in the table.

LOL at Klopp with exaggerated physical reactions to try to avoid a yellow.

Elliott foolish to kick the ball away. That's yellow every time.

Do I want Liverpool to win to preserve Spurs' thin top-4 chances? Or do I want Villa to win so I can feel less guilty about rooting against Spurs tomorrow?

California. Duh.
The main thing that has made this a really fun season is the number of young players making a contribution, and at the top of that list has been Quansah.

The 4 man swap completely changed the game in Villa’s favour. Liverpool had been dominating the midfield up to that point but their replacements were invisible. Oh - in other news Darwin was offside .. again - I think I’ve had it with him.

Edit: and fuck Martin Tyler - he almost had an orgasm when Villa tied it up.

This felt like a a youth soccer "everybody gets a chance to play" substitution. Taking off your one true defensive midfielder with a 3-1 lead is not a choice you make if you're really focused on trying to win the game.

An entertaining draw that helped neither team but both managers seemed to enjoy.
This really is the best recipe for entertaining football. It's why the UEL is some of the best viewing. Real stakes without being so high that everyone has to play tight.

Although we also have to all agree now (right?) that the away goals rule was hindering attacking play and by extension excitement.

Looking forward to, rather than dreading, the inevitable Spurs defensive calamity is such a nice change of pace.

This is the farthest upfield I can ever recall Sarr playing for Spurs, he is almost a False 9.

This is an extremely false 9 situation from Spurs.

It's letting them get midfield overloads without horrifically exposing their backline as they tend to do, but means there's not a whole lot of oomph in the final third.

They need to finish off one of the counters a confused City are giving them or one of their successful press breaks.

Bentancur being on the yellow really dulled his ability to defend the goal, as he couldn't do much to stop Foden without risking a second yellow, which gave Foden a chance to keep that ball alive and eventually get it to Silva/KDB.

The injury, which the dude is up from, and being slapped in the head, is "too graphic" to show?

So glad Raith Rovers beat Patrick in the first leg of the play off cos I feel a bit greasy watching this Spurs City match.

Dunno why, just feel a little greasy. Can't explain.

Wonder if City can make it five in a row next season.
