God the rest of the country must hate us. This run for the B's for any other city would be unbelievable. This is our 3rd championship final of THE YEAR
Only Detroit in 1935-6 has held three of the four major titles at once. Even two at once is quite rare; hell NY, which has like 23 teams, has only done it once.

According to Sportsnet, the Hurricanes were one of the best shooting teams during the regular season (over 34 spg). Against the Bruins, they were at 28 spg, and had shotless streaks of 14:00 and 12:12 tonight.

Does Yankees/Devils count?

Would love to see DeBrusk get going offensively. Been pretty quiet most of the playoffs, especially 5v5.
I’ve long said I think Kadri broke some ribs with his first period hit on him in Game 2. I wonder if a few day off the ice could be just what the doctor ordered, no pun intended.

I was shocked to hear that - particularly since it involved the Lions!

Philly actually reached the finals in all four sports - 79-80 Flyers (lost to Islanders in May 1980), 79-80 Sixers (lost to Lakers in June 1980), 1980 Phillies (beat Royals in October 1980) and 1980 Eagles (lost to Raiders in January 1981).

And Boston has done it I think 4 times in the last 15 years

right here
This game was over when Williams was wide open in the slot and Tuukka flashed his glove like it was warmups. Probably before then, but that was time of death.

So who to root for in the west? I feel ok with either but prefer St Louis. Their ceiling is lower than SJ.

4??? Pats/Sox 2004 and 2018... what else am I missing?
depends if your definition is literal calendar year, or just any 4 consecutive titles over a 12 month period, pats and sox did it twice in 04/05 with pats winning back to back, and celtics and sox in 07/08

It’s too bad Kyrie plays for the C’s. What a buzzkill

Cassidy also had to mix/match/survive all the injuries in the beginning of the year as well, including integrating a number of young players (some more successful, some not). I think a decent balance between staying with and showing confidence in players who were struggling and trying to find combinations to jump start players here and there.

I don’t think a defenseman was beat to a puck in their own end all night.

One thing that has been cleaned up tremendously since the early games is the senseless turnovers in their own end. They cut that out and voila, winning has generally gone a lot smoother.

I define it as any time that two or more teams are the reigning champs at the same time, so it could last almost 12 months (if it were NBA/NHL) or it could be briefer (if the MLB team wins the October after the NFL team wins).

Gotta love that this is actually a pretty young roster overall with a very solid, if not spectacular, crop of prospects despite missing (so far) on a couple 1st round reaches a few years back.

Later rounds and non-draft player acquisition have been fruitful.
