This game was over after game 1, let's not kid ourselves.
CAR punched themselves out after period one game 3. Told my brother if they don't score wait for the adrenaline dump and it is over.

Anyone else blow a lot of $$ on SCF tix yet? Yeah beer!

Guys, we get to do this again. I fucking love this team so much.

I know the Sox and Pats have the titles right now, and those were fucking great, but this is the one that means the most to me. Finish it off.

More Rask...

3 closeout games, he’s allowed 1 goal (Tavares) and has a .990 save percentage, 2 road shutouts.

Bruce Cassidy did an excellent job with this group.
I think Cassidy has done an excellent job since he got here. I thought they would be here last year, but it was worth the wait. This team is awesome, and he has done an incredible job of being both honest and supportive of the entire team. I love his interviews, he's a breath of fresh air at a time when so many coaches want to coddle or defend their players... but he also goes out of his way to praise them as well.

I also think he has managed the mix of youth and experience nearly perfectly this year.

Also, Sweeney picking up Coyle and MoJo at the deadline turned out to be just absolutely perfect fits for this team.

Between here and everywhere.
So for most of the game, the Bruins fans were louder than the Canes fans. Numerous “let’s go Bruins” chants, and the Tuuuuuuuuukkk after every save was tremendous.

That being said, Carolina fans realize their team is still a few years away with their young talent and were incredibly complimentary of the Bruins. Great people. Great rink. Great time.

But what a fucking dismantling.

Was there a pig roast somewhere in the lots after the game?

not sure if it's been mentioned already, but on that extended pressure before the goalie interference penalty that led to the Bs 2nd goal Krug had a 3 minute shift, crazy

With one icing if I recall correctly? The forwards got off, but the defense didn't get to rotate out? Just a cool sequence - and a huge job for someone more recognized for his offense.

Yeah, Carlo was on for almost as long but was able to change out a bit before the penalty

When this team got healthy and in rhythm they were essentially unbeatable for almost two months. Eventually they got banged up a bit and at the end of the season the games didn't mean much. In the playoffs they have largely been healthy and are playing well and here we are. Very impressive. Four wins to go!

I’m just an email away if you need to offset any costs. Not turning them down this time.

I don’t know what you all are going on about, Tuukka just had his worst ECF performance of his career. Yawn.

Just kidding this whole series was dominant. Can’t wait for the final and I think the rest will do them good.

Jim Hughson and Craig Simpson on HNIC mentioned it in real time. No excuses, everyone asked grabs an oar and strokes until asked to put it down.

I don’t think a defenseman was beat to a puck in their own end all night.

One thing that has been cleaned up tremendously since the early games is the senseless turnovers in their own end. They cut that out and voila, winning has generally gone a lot smoother.
Yep, that, and they also got better at just clearing pucks out of their own end on the PK.

Amazing series and the Bs look utterly dominant in every phase of the game right now. I know the commentators were musing about a long layoff and it's impact specifically on Rask. I've liked how they've basically gone from one series right into the next as to keep their rhythm, but I also think at this time of the year they're all pretty beat up and could use some extended rest time to heal up.

Something to worry about? No big deal? Obviously I'm super pumped to win and sweep and be in the SC finals. But should I wish this had extended to 6 games or so?

He is 8-0 in the ECF, right?

A few more thoughts now that I’m awake and sober-ish.

1. At the end of the game, Backes and DeBrusk shared a long hug/convo after the awarding of the PoW trophy. I’ve not heard anything about them, but seems like it could be similar to the Recchi/Bergeron mentorship when he was here.

2. Being at the game and not very online, it took me until about the end of the 1st to realize Chara wasn’t playing, and only because my buddy asked where he was. The defense stepped up huge missing him tonight, and Charlie in game 1.

3. Canes fans were not too happy with me yelling “where’s that fat pig” in the parking lot with a bottle of stolen BBQ sauce after the game.

Over the long run I think the D is better off with Chara, but can anyone remember a time when the Bruins sent out a group of puck-rushing defensemen like Krug, McAvoy, Grzelcyk, Clifton and Moore?
They've got legs and they know how to use them......

So proud of this team. Top to bottom from the coach and the first line down to the third line d pairing this was a real team effort.

Chara is one of if not the best leader in Boston sports over the last twenty years. I think this is worth further discussion elsewhere but amongst players I'm not sure anyone is in his class save Brady, KG, and Ortiz.

Makes me wonder if Z retires after hoisting another Cup.
I think he's one of those guys who will play as long as he can. And in addition to the new contract, he's still a good defenseman. Maybe not great anymore, or completely irreplaceable, but an effective regular. In a vacuum it might be fair to ask whether his $3M or so could be better used elsewhere, but Im pretty confident that hes still worth it. especially considering what he brings to the team off the ice.

He just signed an extension
Plus it's a 35+ contract, so he'd be pulling a real dick move by hampering the B's with his cap hit and not playing. Given the press release talked about him taking less because of the cap, I put the likelihood of retirement at basically zero outside of a career ending injury occurring in the SCF.

Looks like round 4 is about 3x the regular season price. Madness. Would love to know how that compares across the league.
You think that’s madness... I grew up in New England, but sadly moved away 21 years ago. I have exactly zero Bruins connections, so the only option I know to get a ticket for my wife and I is Seatgeek or something like that, and looking at those prices makes me want to cry.

You pay Z whatever he wants for as long as he wants. He was instrumental in turning the franchise around and has given everything he has to the org.

Give him the Wakefield treatment if he wants.

I get the sentiment but Wakefield didn't get whatever he wanted. He was on a team-friendly deal for as long as he wanted.
