Do we get to include former foils? I never knew this particular code to the (Who Is) Karim Garcia story.
I wonder how many autograph requests he gets at work.
Ha - he actually touches on that in this interview on NPR this morning:I wonder how many autograph requests he gets at work.
This is a really weird part of the articleTragic story of course. They were shooting music videos at the house.

I like that they didn't mention his Red Sox stint, but also his nickname, which I never even knew he had. Why would he be called the Perfect Storm for batting and throwing left handed? Weakest nickname ever?Crawford is a Houston native and played for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was nicknamed the "Perfect Storm" because he batted and threw left-handed.
Apologies, an attempt at humor that should have been timed better. RIP to Bethany and Kasen. This is a really weird part of the article

Good on David Price, he's stepping up.https://sports.yahoo.com/report-david-price-pay-dodgers-104733934.html
An example of Price being a great teammate. He really just didnt give a shit about the media here.
I think there are a lot of timelines in the multiverse where he ends up being a star and a legend here. His cards just didn't fall right for him in this one. We have a lot of sports heroes who give crap to the media or otherwise hinder them doing their jobs because they've been assholes to him (and likewise in Philly and other places too). I think Price would have done well here if he'd just been able to stay healthy. An example of Price being a great teammate. He really just didnt give a shit about the media here.
Hey, we all put on a few extra pounds during the shutdown.Panda doesn't appear to have worked out much during the hiatus.

ESPN: Indians bench coach Brad Mills opts out for familyFrancona told reporters that Mills left the team Saturday to return to his family in Texas.
Mills' 18-month-old grandson, Beau, drowned in a swimming pool accident in February, and Francona indicated that his Mills and his family are still grieving.
"I think it was agonizing for him to leave home [to come to summer camp]," Francona said, according to Cleveland.com. "I think it was agonizing for him to leave here. But I know in my heart he made the right decision."
This truly makes me so happy for Daniel Bard. I am emotional thinking about it for him and his family. He was such a fan favorite. To see him come back and make it full circle is a great story. Fuck yeah!!!!!!!!!!
Any excuse to post this:This truly makes me so happy for Daniel Bard. I am emotional thinking about it for him and his family. He was such a fan favorite. To see him come back and make it full circle is a great story. Fuck yeah!!!!!!!!!!
"I signed all kinds of deals, from 2012 to '17, with a lot of different teams trying to get back," Bard said. "I just was never comfortable because I wasn't confident in what I was doing on the field."
Bard went on to take a job with the Arizona Diamondbacks, working as a player mentor. He enjoyed the work, and he now credits the job in helping him with his own struggles.
"I finally didn't have the pressure of trying to throw strikes, and I was able to just help other people and make that my job instead of trying to fix myself," Bard said.
Last season, while playing catch with some players in the Diamondbacks organization, the ball release for Bard felt good. Others in the Diamondbacks organization took notice, he said, and he was encouraged to give playing another shot.
His breakdown had nothing to do with making him a starter. They tried to make him a starter after he began to exhibit signs of wildness as a reliever in late 2011. As much as the whole chicken and beer thing gets all the attention for the team's collapse in September, Bard's descent from lights-out set up man to gas can played a role: 11 innings, 11 H, 9 BB, 1 HBP, 10 K, 14 R, 3 blown saves, 4 losses. That pitch is crazy. He was so good till they tried to make him a starter.
Well, that just made me sad all over again.
There's a great article on Mookie on The Athletic today. It hurts to read knowing he's not playing for us this year - and I'm trying to not get my hopes up for a reunion in the offseason.I will never be fully over the Mookie trade. In fact, I'll probably watch more Dodgers games this year.
Went an inning and a third, 2 hits, no walks, and one strikeout. 25 pitches, 20 strikes. Hit 99 at least once, god damn.Bard just got into a game for the first time in seven years, got the batter to fly out. Four pitches, three strikes.
So awesome, so so so awesome.
