Is there any level of suspension that you would advise Tom to accept?

Breaking News: Aaron Hernandez escaped jail 4 hours ago. Police are looking for Hernandez and an unknown accomplice in a cutoff gray hoodie.
I guess we'll see the jailbreak screen on Sunday.

If people want a distraction from this cheating scandal you can watch all three Patriots America's games on the NFL network starting now. The good old days where the Pats won first and then were caught cheating later.

How do you even come up with that? I want one of these NFL reporter jobs. I am surprised we have not heard that it was all the Illuminati which BB and Brady are obviously members.

In that Globe story from Volin, the NFL called it a "review", not an investigation.

Is there any way that Garopollo did this? He had access to the balls, and maybe he realized that he was going to be a backup QB forever if he didn't make his move now. Think about it. Get Brady suspended for SB, win SB, perfect Wally Pipp moment. BOOM.

That's borderline firing territory for Sal Pal. He may as well have called Brady a bitch. Embarrassing.

Brady had to deny any involvement because women don't like cheaters and his personal brand is all about selling Ugg boots to women.

Seriously, is that SalPal audio authenticated?  Because if it is, then it may be the stupidest thing proferred so far in this foolish story, and that is saying quite a bit.

Brady's total endorsement deals are estimated to be worth about $7 million dollars, and that includes Movado. Giselle is worth about $500 million dollars.

Of course, that doesn't matter because we know that Brady could ramp up any number of endorsements at will:

"Everything in competition to win(?). Women don't like cheaters. And what's the number one demographic that Tom Brady tries to sell Ugg boots to? Women! Guys are not going into the mall and 'let me get, let me, let me get a pair of uggs.' Guys don't go into the mall to get a pair of Uggs. Women do! This was clearly motivated because Tom Brady knows and the people around him know that his brand is damaged by this. Not only on the football field but what he sells off the football fied."

And someone said that this story had hit it's nadir about 200 posts ago.  I for one am now curious about how low we will actually go.

Who leans on the ball all game long and has the best opportunity to release air? Center Ryan Wendell. It's a deep, dark conspiracy, people.

I love this comment.
How many more microphones can we stick in the face of bitter losers with axes to grind on this matter? All with no amount of vetting on filtering by the media.
Why don't we interview BB's ex-wife while we're at it? This entire sad affair has been nothing but hate porn. And everybody loves it- the audience is asking for thirds. It's downright bloodlust.

Sounds like a douche and made some terrible trades, but I think its the end of season press conference.

Maybe my mind is just mush after five days of this, but isn't it good news that the balls were in the officials' possession until 10 minutes before kickoff?  How the heck could someone on the Patriots mess with them at that point, unless they did it on the sideline in full view of everyone?

So if the refs handed the balls to the teams 10 minutes before kickoff, guess they didn't test them again 5 minutes before kickoff.

It also means any doctoring would have had to occur on the field/sidelines. You've got a billion cameras on the sidelines, NFL. Where's the money shot?

What we know:

  • The balls dropped 2lbs of pressure PSI sometime between 10 minutes before the game and the end of the first half.
  • The balls were in the Patriots possession during that time, or in the field of play.
  • Brady likes the ball less inflates, especially in the cold.

Assumption:

Someone on the Patriots staff deflated the balls with or without Brady's knowledge.

Resolution:

Who cares?! Why not just lay that out and take the hit and move on. How are denials going to in any way help. The punishment will be minor relative to the reputational hit of obsfucation.

If this was a sting, and the balls were measured and given to the Pats 10 minutes before kickoff, then you'd have to think the NFL would have had video cameras and a set of eyes on those balls the entire first half, right? I've been hearing there were NFL personnel all over the place, including on the sidelines. Why would they go through all this trouble to catch the Pats and then not watch the balls like a hawk? It defies logic. If they can't produce conclusive evidence then it almost suggests that the Pats are innocent.

I know it sounds crazy, but the theory that the Pats inflated the balls with hot air is the one that makes the most sense given what we know right now.

Seems like if the NFL was trying to set the Pats up they would have given them more than 10 minutes "alone" with the balls.

That's been pretty common knowledge from the start.  That's standard procedure.

Which would be awesome, and technically legal.
