The Sixers will be adding a top 10 pick and potentially a max FA. They’ll be adding a lot to next year’s team as well. Right now, they need some veterans to show Embiid and Simmons how to handle themselves. Embiid’s lack of maturity is a big issue that nobody really is touching on right now.I feel for you, man. Geez, the sixers are not close at all. Considering who is coming back for the Celtics next year. I mean, wow. This has to be incredibly sobering for you.
I don't mean this to be spiteful. Just wow. It has to be stunning to realize how FAR away your team is.
EDIT: Oh and Happy Birthday. 40 sucks.
Brown talking like the series is over. Already discussing what his younger players can learn from this.
Happy birthday nonetheless, I raise one to your good name.Just so you guys know.
Yes I'm very sad. Yes the Celtics are better. Yes that was horrendous to watch.
No there aren't any excuses.
Now I'll respond to all you abuse at a later point because believe it or not it's my 40th birthday party today so I'm gonna go be depressed at it
At least the Celtics will have a chance when LeBron joins the SixersHonestly I'm happy for you guys, we are fans with something in common.
I didn't really think the sixers were ready this season and got abbit carried away despite knowing the heat team was bad.
Simmons always needed a shot, it doesn't need to be a long one just a little open elbow jumper and work up.
Embiid is still great and given where we were it's all good.
It sucks to see how far they are away when they pushed into the pot for Fultz.
Bottom line Tatum is fantastic, ainge is great Stevens has always been great. I can't stand Kyrie but this team without him is better anyway. (Obviously roziers play probably isn't sustainable long term but he's as good a defender if not better, tries all the time and rebounds much much much better).
I want Fultz to recover for all of us to have a fun rivalry for a LONG time.
Happy 40th birthday.LSJust so you guys know.

I don’t think I could take him and Embiid on the same team. Embiid is my least favorite player in the league. At least the Celtics will have a chance when LeBron joins the Sixers
Reddick is a very good player. If they don’t get LeBron, I’m not sure which max player is going to come in that adds all that much more value than Reddick does. Maybe Boogie?and they offer nothing outside. That's a formula for losing basketball.
To be fair, they do have outside shooting. The problem for them is that its good when they are rolling over the 2017-18 Knicks, Nets, Hawks and Magic night after night during the tanking stretch or even the Cavs, who don't scheme like other teams. But when another team has the players and the plan to chase their shooters away from the line, they are in trouble.and they offer nothing outside. That's a formula for losing basketball.
He’s got one foot in LA. He’d be an upgrade, I just don’t think he goes there.Paul George
You do know that Wade is still in the league.I don’t think I could take him and Embiid on the same team. Embiid is my least favorite player in the league.
There's a 2.9% chance that won't happen. Who's Danny going to send to the draft lottery to sit on the sidelines and exude good karma. The Sixers will be adding a top 10 pick and potentially a max FA. As a side note, I don't think Brown deserves the heat he is getting now though he will get it. He is very good and is simply working with a very young team with no playoff experience and some clear flaws. He and Colangelo will fix that in the offseason, whether through trade or free agency or even the draft. These guys will improve and should be as good as advertised. They just aren't ready now.
Whine about the refs. Good look.
Someone really needs to coach him about spewing this stuff. It's a really bad look and a really stupid statement.Embiid has the balls to bitch about the officiating? Pretty sure Baynes got 5 fouls and he gets away with murder. Loser. Loser team.
This is a really douchey post.I feel for you, man. Geez, the sixers are not close at all. Considering who is coming back for the Celtics next year. I mean, wow. This has to be incredibly sobering for you.

Its fine as long as someone points out that the 76ers had 14 PFs called on them while the Celtics had 20. I am not a big blame the refs guy either way and Embiid wasn't the problem for Philadelphia. However the media needs to point stuff like that out when players and coaches use refereeing as an excuse, especially when the data doesn't support what they are saying.Someone really needs to coach him about spewing this stuff. Glad my fears never materialized and my hopes were answered.Watched a few minutes of Warriors vs Pels game...
I'm afraid something similar awaits us today in Philly. My hopes are just to keep it close throughout. Then have Celtics experienced players and Brad's coaching be the edge in a late/tight game.
Apologies. You are spot on.I was referring to your post about Simmons and Embiid. They don't offer much outside shooting and if they are the 2 worst post players, gjge.
NM, mentioned aboveIt's too late, and the answer was to do some PnR and have Simmons sealing instead of posting and waving the ball around
The sixers as built will be a good regular season team, but they need a PNR and iso option for times when it bogs down. And they didn't figure one out this year
I'm with you on Embiid's comments being groundless, but the refs calling X fouls against one team and Y against another is meaningless in these discussions. Using it as support for ref bias literally begs the question. Its fine as long as someone points out that the 76ers had 14 PFs called on them while the Celtics had 20. Just realized that they must be counting the Syracuse Nats beating the Celtics in 1955 on their way to the title, which seems stupid. But OK.They said 7 game series on the telecast.I went to one of the games in that series. The Celtics won something like 160-70 (well not quite)* and then became a very old very slow team overnight.
But the broadcast definitely blew the graphic in game 1 when they said that ten times the winner of a Celtics-Sixers series went on to win the title, eight by Boston two by Philly - since Philly beat Boston en route to their first title in 1967 but not as part of the fo' fo' fi' (ed2:actually fo fi fo, of course)second championship run in 1983, and their third title is lol..
*Ed- turns out it was 157-128. You'll never see 157 points with 1-6 three-point shooting again.
Wow. I can't believe he would even say that (even worse if he even believes it). Maybe he doesn't know the rules that well b/c he is so new to the game. He gets away with a decent amount (though to be fair, many stars in the NBA also get this treatment). I watched him commit offensive fouls, travel, and commit defensive fouls that all went uncalled.Embiid has the balls to bitch about the officiating? Pretty sure Baynes got 5 fouls and he gets away with murder. Loser. Loser team.
Philly is -7Glad my fears never materialized and my hopes were answered.
Have to think if the 76ers have any shred of self-respect left they win Game 4 at home. And Celtics win this in 5.
Does Vegas still have the 76ers favored in Game 4?
Brett Brown owns Game 2 loss and the players bicker with each after a missed assignment on defense. We really don't know what kind of coach he is. Colangelo Jr, really? I liked the Ilyasova/Beli deadline pickups, but Amir was a questionable signing at those $$$. Holmes would add more energy than Amir at this point. And we'll always have Fultz for Tatum ++He(Brown) and Colangelo will fix that in the offseason, whether through trade or free agency or even the draft. These guys will improve and should be as good as advertised. They just aren't ready now.

Oh good. I get to spend the next 15 years watching another big guy who is convinced he's fouled on every play. First Giannis now Embiid. But Embiid saying because he is big he literally is de facto fouled on every play puts him in Kareem territory. He's an incredibly talented player but that's pathetic.Embiid has the balls to bitch about the officiating? Pretty sure Baynes got 5 fouls and he gets away with murder. Loser. Loser team.
I thought the refs had their whistles away for much of the game. Early in the first, they let Simmons hook Rozier as he drove around him, then Tatum did much the same thing at the other end, and neither was called.Wow. I can't believe he would even say that (even worse if he even believes it). Maybe he doesn't know the rules that well b/c he is so new to the game. But he stared down Baynes and like to talk shit as soon as he gets a one point lead down 2-0. He's tough or something.Oh good. I do think the really BIG guys (like shaq most clearly) get beat up inside a lot. The beating Shaq took shortened his career. And I think embiid is more away than ever of any contact around his face given the injury and mask, if his mask is moved enough to need to reapply it I'm sure he felt that was a foul.Oh good.
