Here
Danny should have made that deal on Shark Tank, so we could all go back and watch.

Lakers for sure, but he won't get anything near the max. The Rockets will also be sniffing because he's better than Beverley and will now be cheaper than he was reputed to be before the past season.
Beverley and Rondo share the same agent. The primary reason a deal wasn't done with Houston this year was that the agent wasn't going to have his client Beverley lose his job. It's the unseen dirty side of the business.

At this point, Rondo-in-China is a distinct possibility.
I'm thinking he goes pro in Connect Four. He's already made 60 million, may as well retire from NBA since he doesn't appear to care at all. Go into another venture; he's a smart, albeit probably autistic, guy.

Well, the article says the opposite--that he cares so much that it's disruptive because coupled with that is the fact that he thinks he's always the smartest guy in the room.

I don't know anyone who has been more anti-Rondo than myself over the year but I wouldn't ever stick a "doesn't appear to care at all" tag on him. He IS frustrated that Dallas acquired him to perform the same tasks that he did with Pierce, KG and Allen but his ego now is that he is above this and he's a legit star despite never possessing the skillset to be one.

It was always a terrible fit with Monta and Carlisle as was discusses at the time of the trade. Rondo has bought into the public notion that he is something that he'a not. This is the problem.....not that he doesn't care.

And 3 seconds. (Could be 2 firsts and a second, but that requires the Wolves to not get a top 12 pick next year which seems unlikely.)

Mavericks don't give Rondo a playoff share, despite him appearing in games.

The article says that the other players didn't vote against Rondo explicitly, they were just presented with a list of names that didn't include him and voiced no objection.

I realize that money means a lot more to the clubhouse attendance and ancillary team staff than it does to the players, but still.  Harsh.

What's the rationale for being able to exclude him?  Presumably they couldn't just exclude say, Dirk Nowitzki just for the hell of it.  Do only players on the team the full season get to decide?

Each playoff team is given a sum to distribute. I do not believe there is a uniform system to distribute monies however it is common for the players to vote. I do know that there was no set rule in place requiring anyone to receive a share anywhere in the last CBA.....I'm not familiar with any changes to this one so I assume it is same.

I miss having Rondo on the team however I'm certain the Celtics are better off without him. I did not see the game and do not know the specifics of what led up to it however behavior like this (from last night's game) is not going to help him with his next contract.

Rondo was reluctant to inbound the ball twice with just more than a second to play in the first half, resulting in two bizarre delay-of-game technicals. Durant converted a free throw each time, giving the Thunder a 61-53 lead at the break.

"I'm not going to comment on that because I might get fined," Rondo said.

Durant was naturally happy to see the Kings get upset and his team awarded five technical foul shots (three for delay of game), which were all converted.

"It's lovely. That's lovely," Durant said. "That's like Christmas. You know coming in here this team, they have a little hot head, so you know at some point you're going to get free points."

I saw the delay-of-game penalties called, and they were earned: Rondo refused to pick up the ball, then refused to take it when the referee handed it directly to him at chest-level. Rondo lost it after that -- petulant and immature. His personality flaws have certainly been in evidence since he left the Celtics.

.

It's a weird thing - the first time it appears the RR is waiting for someone to get open and then the ball bounces past him and he's thinking if he picks it up, it's going to be some kind of violation.

But after that happens, why would anyone make him inbounds the ball a second time?

I've watched it a few times, and I can't figure out why the second delay of game is called. It looks like Rondo picks up the ball on one bounce, looks down the court, then the whistle blows a second later from the ref on the other side of the court. Doesn't he get 5 seconds to inbound it?

Isn't that entire video the second one?

No, the second call is right at the 1:00 mark in the video, after Durant makes the free throw. (I think... it's a little confusing with the replay and the fact that it looks exactly the same as the first call)

edit: I think they also refer to a previous delay call earlier in the game

The initial incident was on the official who bounced the ball 5 feet away from Rondo.....clearly there was something going on between the two of them prior which he has going on with many officials. Then Rondo exasperated the situation by refusing to handle the ball handed to him causing the first delay of game. The second delay of game was given not for a 5-second violation but for delaying the start of the 5-count by again not accepting the ball initially when it was placed on his chest.

Oh the days when Celtics fans wouldn't trade him for Westbrook, Curry or Paul.

If Boston could somehow acquire Jimmy Butler I would be partying from now until doomsday. Especially if they found a way of getting Henry Ellenson too.

Cut for getting a couple delay of game penalties? I mean, it was a childish thing to to do, and I wouldn't be surprised if he sits out a game, but you are out of your mind if you think he deserves to be cut for something like that.
That, plus everything else.

If you don't want to play the game they shouldn't let you play the game

How the hell does he not get benched or cut for that?
I think it was one of those cases where Karl couldn't believe what he was seeing and just left Rondo out there to become an object of derision. The look of incredulity on his face was simply priceless. I really wish HBO had decided to turn the 2016 Kings into a reality TV show, it would be the living definition of must see TV.

The second call was absolutely BS. They're picking on Rondo ... probably for good reason, but nobody else gets called for that second non-delay.

Well he did kinda deserve it for continuing to show up the officials and by him refusing (again) to accept the ball from the official it was "technically" the correct call. The only time it would ever be called this way is if the player had continually tried to show up the official......which Rondo did.

God dammit Rondo. I used to absolutely love him but it's just getting to be impossible to support such a petulant child. I thought he'd have grown out of it by now but oh well. No one can take away the things he did with truth KG and Ray Ray. Such a gifted ball handler and passer. If only he would tuck his fucking elbow in under the ball when he shot his %s would go up 10pts in a year easily. Even more from the free throw line.

He does lead the league in assists per game, so it's not like he's become worthless.

Quantifying the value of an assist is a pretty heavily discussed topic, though. He's not good on/off.
