Didn't realize traveling was a thing in summer league.

You just wonder about Ball's motion given the pace of the NBA game and quickness of defenders.

Very happy wtih Tatum's summer league play---let's see how he looks against legit NBA defenders, but so far so good.

It's just summer league, but still sweet to win before an LA home crowd.

Quite a contrast to Brown. (And I don't really mean that as a knock on Brown.) Skills and feel you can't teach.
Well put--he just 'looks' like a guy who can have impact in the NBA in his game. Unlike Brown to date, unfortunately, who still is tantalizing but no more

Just watching Fultz warm up gives me a Jeff Green benzo vibe. I hope I'm wrong about that because he has skills

I thought Brown played great D on Ball in the 4th quarter.

Yeah, I like Tatum from the line as well, as it looks like he knows how to draw contact. I also like his scoring, rebounding, handle, wingspan, yada yada

Ojeleye with 19 tonight I think and showing some 3 point range, so he's got some ability

Brown pretty unimpressive tonight. He should be dominating this league

Yeah, the thing about Brown is that, while he might be tantalizing in respect to his stardom, you know you're at least getting a high-energy possibly elite defender and more-than-capable rebounder who can get to the line and sink his free throws. He's going to be at least good and he's going to have his all-world moments on offense to boot.

Ball has phenomenal court vision and will be a very good rebounding guard. His shot is not good, and even PJ was cautious about it, saying it takes him too long to get it off. And he cannot defend any guards with quickness. On a team with very good players, Ball would still be an excellent floor general...on a shitty team, time will tell.

He can't play lead guard. He can't defend a good pg and he can't beat anyone off the dribble. He needs to be off guard and use his passing and off the catch shot in space. He's a sick cutter too which is lost playing lead guard.
If he plays true 1 it's going to be rough. As I've said from early.
DSJ looked great too. Man his slipping was just so wrong

But uh, also this is a knock on Brown, right? I mean, how far can you go in this league with absolutely no feel for the game?

Game thread hot take alert:

Patrick McCaw > Lonzo Ball > Markelle Fultz

Edit: ugh, and now Fultz is hurt. Looked like he turned his ankle pretty badly. Get well soon, Markelle.
