Sign and trades no longer give you the ability to offer the player what their incumbent team could offer. So, in other words, a sign and trade would restrict the Celtics to offering Horford the four-year max. So, there's really no benefit to the Celtics. If they need room for Durant, they can just trade or waive Jerebko and Johnson and renounce the cap holds on the restricteds and they'll have plenty of room for both Horford and Durant. I don't think you'll see many if any sign and trades this year when so many teams have room.
With Portland spending on Turner I wonder what the Blazers would do if we signed Meyers Leonard to a 4/$80m offer sheet. He'd be such a good fit here.
Portland has sufficient room ($25.2mm) to sign Turner, but would have to renounce Crabbe/Harkless (approx. $10mm combined) to sign anyone else of significance. If a team signed Crabbe, Harkless or Leonard to an offer sheet, that additional amount would be added to the cap until a decision is made. Since Leonard's cap hold is $7.7mm, Portland could match the offer, after renouncing Crabbe and Harkless.

There is little chance that Zeller returns on a QO. He should fire his agent immediately if he can't get a minimum of 3/$25m somewhere and that is the floor imo.
I'm not sure if he's a JAG, but only Kevin Pelton thinks he's a top 10 free agent. CBS has him at 61, a spot above Mosgov. Zeller is definitely a JAG with a little potential, he's in the Cole Aldrich class. I'd expect Sully to get something in the 4 years 50-65M range, and Zeller around 3/20.
I'd be disappointed if Sully was on the Cs next year. He was good value for where he was drafted, but he's already losing lateral quickness, is in terrible condition, and is a bad fit for our offense.
Not much chatter about other Celtics targets, but there are still some guys out there that Ainge should be looking at.
I think Terrence Jones, after a down year, is a good target on a short Amir Johnson type deal. Gives him the chance to re-establish value outside of the shit show that is the Houston Rockets, and he's still a young guy with upside that hasn't entered his prime yet.

I mentioned him the the NBA Off-season thread as a reclamation project that I'm interested in. His regression is troubling- he was pretty terrible this year- but it does seem related to the aforementioned shit show, and some flukish injuries. Given his pedigree, age, and glimpses of production, I don't really get the apparent lack of interest around the league. I figured maybe he has a reputation of a headcase that I hadn't heard about.
