It's 7-2 White Sox. Has any team blown that type of lead recently?White Sox are lighting up the Cubs in the 1st. Game is on ABC, which is weird.
Three HRs so far - including the first pitch.
It was Dinger! This feels like a Curb Your Enthusiasm skit.
Just hope the fan doesn't get doxxed anyway if it was indeed "Dinger".
I mean, it's kinda funny ... but also watching the mob ramp up on Twitter last night only to find out it's "Dinger" this morning and just go on like nothing happened is also part terrifying.I saw that, now the Media looks super stupid. Media gonna Media.
It was Dinger the Rockies mascot. The fan was clearly yelling to get its attention to take a picture. It's kinda sad in our society today that everyone has to assume the worst. The worst part is that the media will not accept any blame in this episode. The media blew up what turned out to be an innocent situation and heated the flames. I would advise the Rockies to change the name of the mascot though.Assuming it was just one guy, it's important that he was evicted and, if possible, not allowed to buy tickets to any mlb games going forward.
In fairness, you're quoting a post that was made well before it was realized that it was a guy shouting "Dinger". The Rockies put out a statement decrying the racist epithet so it's not just a matter of the media fanning flames. Given what was thought to be heard, the reactions in the moment weren't out of line. So long as the folks calling the guy a racist correct themselves now that the facts are known, I don't see the big deal here.It was Dinger the Rockies mascot. I am not a huge baseball mascot guy but if you are going to have one Dinger is a fun name for a mascot. I hope they don't over react and change the name of their mascot because some idiots in the media were looking for racist behavior where there was absolutely none.It was Dinger the Rockies mascot. Don't worry ... I've been assured the Yankees are deadIt would be really nice if someone for once could score a couple of fucking runs against the MFYs.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry following thisGreat job by the Royals coming back to tie the game four times but never taking the lead.
Crazy thing is that it would have been either team tonight.I would really like to know the last time a team scored at least one run in the 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th and still lost.
Or we could not jump to conclusions. That's directed more at the Rockies and national media types than folks relying on them for info on what happened.Video has surfaced of it. It was a fan yelling Dinger and trying to get the mascots attention. He was sitting behind the plate. He’s not even looking at the batter but waving and yelling at the mascot a few rows away.
I'm surprised you havent noticed the mitts. Guys are wearing them to prevent broken fingers and similar injuries on slides into the base. Verdugo has a very flashy gold one, for example. Please don’t tell me that oven mitt he’s wearing are going to become the new “thing” . I’ve never seen that before. & Boone was literally wearing a t-shirt the other day.
Yes, protecting your fingers from being broken is *so* untraditional and offensive and should be banned immediatelyPlease don’t tell me that oven mitt he’s wearing are going to become the new “thing” . I’ve never seen that before. & Boone was literally wearing a t-shirt the other day.
Don't mean to pile on, but I have to. Seriously, this slide was one of the smoothest things I have ever seen. How could you possibly comment negatively about this? Trea Turner is awesome.I'm honestly impressed that anyone could watch a video of that Turner slide and find something to complain about. That's hilarious.
10 in a row then a single.Corbin Burnes 3 quick outs (no Ks) in the first inning on 4 pitches. Then 9 straight Ks and counting.
If James Brown was a baseball player, that's how he would do it. The dirt didn't even stick to the pants of his uniform.Omg that Turner slide is my new favorite thing.
